AFT rooms on the Dream?

Woohoo! Thanks for the pictures! I have 10660 booked for my March, 2012 Dream cruise and March, 2013 Fantasy. Do you have any pictures of the inside?

DisneyGyrl--we currently have 10658 booked for waaay in the future... (LOL).

Just a few questions.... did your verandah get wet when they washed the deck at Cabanas? Also, were people able to look down right into your verandah?
thanks!

It rained on and off throughout the duration of our cruise, and our verandah was wet pretty frequently....so I couldn't really say whether or not it got wet from the washing of the decks or the rain itself. Honestly, it never really felt like we were below the restaurant, and I don't recall ever knowing whether or not they were spraying the deck, save for one night in the middle of the night. I never would've known that, but I was sleeping with the door open and could hear the pressure washer.

About half of the verandah is covered, and you wouldn't be visible to the people above unless you step out closer to the rail. Seriously, the length of this deck was longer than 2 lounge chairs and one upright chair lined up in a row.

And on the final morning, back in PC, I stepped outside to have one last moment before leaving....and I looked down to find a golf ball from the miniature golf up on deck 11!!!:lmao:

These aren't the greatest quality, as they were taken using my phone. (This was a family vacation, and some of our party remained in WDW---with the good camera---while my son, my father and I took the 3-nighter on the Dream).

And a bunk bed. Seriously, my son usually has normal hair when it's dry. Unfortunately, I don't have a lot of dry hair pics from this last trip due to swimming, rain, post-bedtime showers (as seen below) and *ugh* humidity...

Two more views of the lovely CC (it was overcast, but that didn't stop our fun!)

thanks!!! That's so funny about the golf ball!!! :)

Luckily it didn't bounce off of anyone's head. It would be difficult to explain that bruise when returning home....."um, I got hit by a golf ball out in the open seas of the Bahamas...."

We have booked cabin 7194 for our upcoming cruises. Does anyone know if this stateroom has the lounge chairs on the verandah???

Thanks for the info!

We haven't stayed in the rooms you all have stayed in, but we have done two cruises on the Magic and both were deck 6 AFT. We loved it! Our Feb/13 cruise on the Fantasy is on deck 6 AFT as well. It is a great part of the ship and I must say that I sleep much better on the Disney ships than I do at home! LOL!

We have 7194 booked on the Fantasy in June and would love to know this too! :goodvibes

None of the aft verandas on deck 7 had loungers in
August when we cruised.

Thanks for posting the aft balcony pictures. We have 8186 booked for june 6th. 2012 Anyone know if this statereeom has the Lounge chairs? Thanks again for the pics. :worship:

Love the pics! Thank you! :goodvibes

Oh yeah, I meant to comment on the vibration some folks mentioned early on when in the aft staterooms. That's definitely not something that's special to the aft staterooms. We were in 7616 (midship). The morning we docked at CC our whole room was shaking as we were pulling in. I swear it felt like we were on the spin cycle. It woke the hubby & me up. Of course my hubby then has to sprint out onto the verandah ripping the curtains open in the process. The blast of sunlight, in turn, woke my boys the youngest of which I was really hoping would sleep past the time we'd have to leave the ship to go do the CC5k. No such luck. So I had to actually get out of my cozy Dream-y bed and go run. pirate:

Hope my pics were of some help to you folks.

Sounds like the vibrations only occur during early morning as the ship docks. That's not the worst thing in the world, is it? I mean, it gets you up early to enjoy your day. I sometimes tend to oversleep during my cruises (b/c of late nights) and then end up feeling like I've missed out on so many activities. Last January, my kiddo and I slept until 1100.....we got stuck with an inside cabin and couldn't tell whether it was 0500 or 1100. Granted, we had a wake up call that I continuously ignored, but part of the problem was the lack of natural light to help wake either of us up in the morning. Maybe crazy ship vibrations would've done the trick.

If the aft room we have doesn't have loungers, can they be requested? Is there room for them?

SO happy to hear that as we are booked in 10664 for our Oct. cruise next year which if I'm correct is right next door :woohoo:

I will be in that room on 12/29. Will make sure to take pics. There is someone who was in that room. I will see if I can find the link.

I stayed in 8684 and loved it. I really enjoyed the oversized veranda. I liked it so much I booked the same room on the Fantasy. That room was one that was reclassified recently (upgraded). I never had a problem with noise.

Rob - Do you have any pictures of 8684? We have that room booked for the Fantasy MV cruise in March and I've been wondering what it looked like.

We were in 7192 on the Dream back in May. Below are a couple of pictures of the verandah. 7194 is right next door and is very similar. It looked to be a tiny bit bigger, but not a huge difference. (click the thumbnails to go to photobucket, then click again to make it bigger)

This is looking over the wall into the verandah for 7194

And just for reference, pictures looking down to deck 6 and up to deck 8. Looking down you couldn't really see anything. Since the verandah for the deck 7 rooms are partially covered, if someone were leaning over on deck 8 they could probably see the uncovered part. I remember when we were docking at Nassau, I could see people up above, but I'm not sure exactly where they were at. I didn't get a pic and it's been too long to remember.

We are booked in 6192 on the Dream for our first ever cruise in Feb. I am super excited after hearing all the great reports about Aft staterooms. I too would love to know if anyone has been successful in requesting lounge chairs for the lower extended balconies. It seems like the upper decks have them but the lower decks don't. I don't think iti s a space issues, because from the pcitures I have seen, there should be more than enough room for them.
