I currently put on hold AFT rooms # 5190 & 5192. Has anyone stayed in these rooms, or any AFT rooms on the Dream? What are they like? Motion? View of the ocean? Is there any reason I should or shouldn't book these rooms? If anyone has any pictures I would really appreciate it!:) Thanks in advance for any advice!

Aft rooms have a great deal of vibration from the engines and side thrusters. Every time I was in an aft room I felt like I was in a blender the entire trip. Not pleasant at all. On the Dream/Fantasy some of the rooms on deck 5 have complaints of extreme noise until 2 am from the clubs directly below on deck 4 so you may want to research that before you book on deck 5 aft.

In September, I stayed in #10660, which is aft. I quite enjoyed it, and I liked the view of seeing where we had sailed already. In Nassau, it faces the Atlantis Resort, and has a spectacular view of CC. Additionally, due to the location, we had a HUGE verandah with 3 lounge chairs and 2 upright chairs. As for the noise and vibration, I didn't notice much of either, however I was on the 10th floor. Next time, I'm selecting an aft room again...I don't have any complaints.

I stayed in 5190 on the MV of the Dream. I did not notice any vibrations from the engines. :confused3 However, there was noise from Evolution which is one deck below. I am not a light-sleeper and this did NOT bother me or my roommate at all during the cruise.

The verandah is nice and big - but not huge. We really enjoyed the view from Aft - especially when we were in port. Nothing like sitting on your verandah while overlooking Castaway Cay!! The view is spectacular!

We enjoyed the location of this room so much we booked the same room for the MV of the Fantasy! :woohoo:

Hope this helps~

I stayed in 8684 and loved it. I really enjoyed the oversized veranda. I liked it so much I booked the same room on the Fantasy. That room was one that was reclassified recently (upgraded). I never had a problem with noise.

OP - Direct Aft & Wrap Balconies usually command big bucks on most cruise lines and we always try to book them. I find the slight vibration condusive to a good sleep. As others have posted i'd skip the room due to common area below deck 5.

I just booked 7692 and adjoining inside for a cruise, stumped that i can't find any pics of what i'm told is an extended balcony.:confused3

We stayed in 7192, and loved it. We did have the vibration issue, anytime the ship was in reverse, and it was pretty extreme. However, it was only when we were in reverse. The view was simply amazing!! Oddly, while we didn't here it in our room, we did here noise from evolution one night out on our balcony, I couldn't believe the noise could travel up that far outside the ship while moving!
We have this same room booked again in 2013. We may not take the cruise, as the prices are crazy, but if we do, we will for sure be in 7192!!!

Hi DCLShel - we were your neighbors in 5192 on the MV of the Dream.

We loved this room so much we tried to get it for the MV of the Fantasy, but unfortunately it was already gone when we booked.

The large verandah, the views, the laundry right there & the seclusion of being at the end of the hall made this a perfect room. The noise from the club (and it was just a bass thump, not loud music) really did not bother us or keep us from a good night's sleep.

I would recommend the aft rooms to anyone!

Thanks so much everyone! DCLShel, do you by chance have any pics of the balcony you would be willing to share?

Last month I spent a week in 5652 and loved every minute of it!! We booked the same room on the Fantasy next year!! :cool1:

We booked aft 9672 on the Fantasy in September 2013. I'm so jazzed about it! I think the balcony & views will be wonderful! Would love to see pictures of aft balconies on the Dream, if possible. Those of you who have aft balconies on the Fantasy MV, pretty-please take lots of balcony pics and bring them back for us! :thumbsup2

SO happy to hear that as we are booked in 10664 for our Oct. cruise next year which if I'm correct is right next door :woohoo:

We loved oth rooms. When getting into port we felt small movements. As someone said before it made it easier to sleep. I'd book 8 or higher aft any time!

WOW! That balcony looks awesome! I wonder if the balcony on the 5th floor is any different? Thank you so much for the pictures!:thumbsup2

Here's some pics of my aft room #10660.

I had difficulty fitting the whole verandah in the frame:

Wow Wow WOW!!! We just changed our April 2012 Magic cruise to a January 2013 Dream cruise and have aft rooms 9174 and 9176 booked! These pictures make me so excited to see and just confirm that changing out cruise dates was the right thing to do. CAN'T WAIT!!!

DisneyGyrl--we currently have 10658 booked for waaay in the future... (LOL).

Just a few questions.... did your verandah get wet when they washed the deck at Cabanas? Also, were people able to look down right into your verandah?
thanks!
