Thanks for the tips! We'll be on deck 9. I'll definitely check with our family doctor ahead of time, and will try the ginger and Dramamine. Do you think Dramamine works better than Bonine? Same tiredness issues with both?

We used Bonine 1x/day for my husband and I. It was our first cruise, so we didn't want to take any chances. Worked well enough, although we could feel the vibration at dinner time because of the seating area. We were on the Dream

Very sensitive to sea sickness.

Been aft both cruises. I love it , the views are amazing.

I take Gravol at night (and when we leave PC on the first day), Gravol Ginger during the day, I drink Ginger Ale during dinner on the first night (that night is the worst for sea sickness because the cruiseship goes fast).

I much prefer Bonine over Dramamine. I don't get sleepy with it and it works better for me. But, everyone is different. You can give both a trial run before you leave, or bring both on the cruise.

That's so not true. The firstnight/next morning is horrible for me and when I get sick. Once I get my sea legs and the meds kick in I'm much better. Doesn't matter if it's a 3 night or a 9 night.

I'm pretty prone to seasickness and have stayed aft. I asked my doc for a prescription for the patches before I sailed and all was well. I was on a 7-day western.

I will say from experience that if you do use meds, start before you're sick. In fact, start before you get on the ship and keep up with them. It's way easier to stay ahead of it. Once you feel ill, it's much harder to control.
