How terribly bad will the crowds be this weekend? We are going to be at the parks Saturday, 6/2, thru Monday, 6/4 and I'm excited and sort of dreading it at the same time. We are 5 adults and 1 granddaughter, 2 1/2 yrs old. Any tips that might make the trip less stressful...besides the usual, taking a break in the afternoon and returning in early evening? I keep telling myself, we'll just take it easy and do what we can, but I don't want to repeat what we've done in the past...spent most of our time walking from ride to ride looking for shorter wait times. I know now that was dumb!!

Better this weekend than in 2 weeks! LOL

I have no "real" idea how bad it will be this weekend... but I can't imagine it will be "really" bad. My reasoning: Carsland opens in 2 weekends. I'm betting most people are waiting for that weekend to visit! While there will always be a lot of locals, we all know there will be many people traveling to see Carsland on the opening weekend! In other words, maybe less people will be there (though still a lot of people), since they are also likely planning to go in 2 weeks.

... but I have no realistic basis for this... just how my reasoning/thinking would work!

Assuming you mean THIS weekend, I am hoping it won't be too bad on Sunday. DCA might be more crowded due to the AP previews of Cars Land. My kids and I have APs, so for us it won't be a big deal, but DH doesn't have an AP. For his sake I hope we are able to do a lot. He's using a comp ticket my DD received for cheering the 1/2 marathon runners with her Girl Scout troop. We may just stay at DL all day. Hope you have a magical time!

Best advice is to utilize the opening hours and, if possible with your GD, the evening/closing hours.

You may want to consider getting one of the wait time apps for your phone. I haven't used any of them, but I've heard good things about mousewait and touringplan's lines app.

We were there last weekend and Saturday was definitely less crowded than Sunday because more of the APs are blocked on Saturday. CMs said this is typical so I would assume that it'll be the same this upcoming weekend.

Oops...the dates are this weekend, June 9, 10 and 11. Thanks for the responses so far. I have already told the family, we must get started early each day in order for us to enjoy as much as we can, before the crowds arrive. So excited and can't wait to go!!

This is the last good weekend. Cars Land opens next Friday! Wow, where did the time go? Have fun and enjoy the last least crowded weekend of the summer!

My thought is that DCA will be pretty busy due to both AP and CM previews of Cars Land. But wayyy less crowded than the following weekend so good luck!
