Affordable Towel Set

I would love to get my DBF a decent set of Towels for Chanukah. I actually had told him that would be his gift awhile ago when he expressed the need. (He maybe has 3 towels between him and his son and one of them is a beach towel)

Two problems.

One:
I forgot how early it was this year. (I am not Jewish, he is, I am not used to knowing the calendar yet)

Two:
Since we just got back from Disney I am pretty broke. I only have about $50 until the end of the month
I figure approx. $20 for his son. (easy)
$30 for him (not so easy)

So I need a decent towel set (including wash clothes) for about $30 and I am really not seeing any for less than $50



Anyone?

What do mean by a set? 2 bath, 2 hand, 2 wash cloths?

You know, I am really not seeing bigger sets. I'm surprised.

I did look at the calendar and see Chanukah ends 12/5 this year...so you may have more time if you did want to spend more. Or buy 2 sets.

I know you wouldn't think of this as decent, but have you looked at Walmart? They do have some nice, inexpensive towels. I just bought a couple this summer...probably about $4 a piece. My DS needed some towels to take to camp. I can't speak for how they have held up since we are saving them as camp towels, but they are very soft and absorbant. You would just choose the pieces you need and make you own set.

The good thing about the ones from JCP is the the good reviews (and the price).

I have the Linden Street quick dri towels from JcPenney. The pieces are relatively cheap. I've had some towels for 3 years now, most of them two, and I purchased a set last Christmas for my aunt.

They're not super thick, but they are absorbant. They really do dry faster than traditional towels.

I would also skip the hand towels unless your son has a partial bath. I find full towels and wash clothes to be the most used. Or maybe just stick to a couple for show.

How about Marshall's or TJ Maxx? Really nice quality towels for a lot less. We bout new towels over the summer and spent less than $200 for all 7 of us plus a few extras.

I have gotten some nice brands at Marshall's and once I even found a set clearanced.
