ADVISE NEEDED! I had to place Holly in "prison"...

Okay before you freak out, "prison" is what we call her pack and play. The problem is she just figured out how to rip up pieces of my carpet and I have already had to fish out several pieces she was choking on. I am stumped on how to "baby proof" the carpet and am requesting advise on what to do. She is making pitiful sounds right now from prison and making me feel bad. HELP!!!

Anywhere you can "gate" off that has either hardwood floors, laminate floors, linoleum, or any non-carpet floors?

Megara ate the linoleum a few weeks back.....had to put down carpet to the areas that she ripped...sooooooooooo she is only out of her area when we are with her.........if we leave the house she goes in her crate.....

Sadly Holly is my 8 mo old DD, so I can't put her in a crate. I think that is frowned upon. The only non carpet rooms are the bathroom and the kitchen which are both gated off already since they are impossible to baby proof. I really can't think of anything else to do but keep saying no to her and pray she figures out that carpet tastes bad.

How about putting the pack-n-play on a blanket or towel? That way she can't get to the carpet.

This too shall pass. Sounds like she only gets parole if someone's able to trail her.

Sounds like time to get new carpet if she can get pieces from it.

HMMM...since we live in military housing I wonder if they would replace the carpet. I think I will call in the morning. The worst that can happen is that they say no.

put something over the pieces of the carpet that are coming apart. or try and duct tape it for now. I babysit a now 1 yr old and she is still pulling apart and eating stuff.
