we are trying to decide where to stay with three families, one child having autism. The needs are they want to be secluded, safe, away from too much stimulus and a full kitchen. Villas are being considered strongly. We have to pay public price because we can't risk renting points in case we need to cancel. Please help give me advice on these criteria. Are the treehouse villas even for public? What about OKW , is it too big ?
Thank you from a crazy gramma trying to book something for everyone.

I too would try the Fort cabins or the tree houses sound like a good plain do you have to stay on site if not maybe renting a house would be something to look at. and how many people are in this group you maybe looking at a few tree house or cabins and that can be pricy

We have stayed on property a few times, but my son does much better at an off-site condo. He needs his own space. We have rented everything from 2 bedroom condos to 6 bedroom houses at Windsor Hills and highly recommend the resort. The commute is quick, and far less stressful than waiting for a bus.

Kids have different needs but for my son having a fridge stocked with the foods he eats and his own bedroom and bathroom helped tremendously. We are okay in a Disney hotel room for a couple days, but for the same cost prefer the 10 day trips with plenty of space and time to relax.

We went last February and stayed in Fort Wilderness cabins. I didn't know it at the time (he was diagnosed 8 months later), but my son is on the autism spectrum. While planning I knew he was overwhelmed easily and needed a place that was calm and quiet to go back to if the parks were too overwhelming.

Fort Wilderness was great! It was so peaceful, calm, and having a cabin meant not sharing walls with strangers. If he had a meltdown, we didn't have to worry about him disturbing the neighbors either. Going back to the cabin felt like a retreat and I really don't think we would have had that peaceful feeling if we were returning to one of the standard hotels. The kitchen also really helped us save money on food during the trip.

We are DVCr's. However we have never stayed at the Treehouse. Our younger dd has ASD. Although she is much better now, when she was younger, we'd get to the parks at rope drop and stay til 12, then leave to go back to the resort. She would just be overwhelmed by lunchtime. So a nearby pool was important to us, as she really enjoyed it. I think the TReehouses use the Saratoga Springs pool. I'm not sure they're close enough for a quick walk. Just want to toss that out as a consideration. If pools are important, yet you're seeking a quiet resort, both Saratoga Springs, and Old Key West would be good choices.

I'm an almost 21 (yes I said 21) year old with autism so I can help. Saratoga Springs is a nice place. Like everyone else, I would also reccomend the cabins at Fort Wilderness
