Can someone talk to me about the 2br villas at BCV? Travel dates are 1/23/15-1/31/15. We'll have 3 adults and 4 children. Ages of the children will be 9,8,6 and 5. Will we feel cramped? Our original plan was to get 2 studios, but the friend we're renting points from said she'd do the 2br villa for $8 per point. Quite a deal. I just want to make sure we're going to have enough space and not want to pull our hair out before weeks end. She's willing to charge us $8 per point for any of the 2br DVCs. She owns at SSR so at the very least we'll end up there. Our first choice is BCV, second choice is AKV and SSR last. We came up with those preferences based on getting 2 studios. Is there anything different about 2brs that would make us want to change our choices? Any feedback would be appreciated!

I think you will be fine with any of them but I would also consider either BLT (3 bathrooms!!!) or OKW (the largest of the DVC rooms). We have stayed in a 2 bedroom with 4 adults and 3 kids and did not feel cramped.

I would try and book a 2 bedroom unit that has 3 bathrooms, instead of 2. With that many people, it could really come in handy. I would also want a 2 bedroom with the extra sleeping chair, so that the kids don't have to sleep together on the pull-out. That would limit your choices to AKV -Kidani, or BLT.

We have had 4 adults and 3 kids in a 2 bedroom unit, and did feel cramped. The kids that slept in the living room had no place to go to "get away" and have some alone time. They were always around the other set of kids. We managed, but it was alot of togetherness.

I don't think you'll have any trouble with any of the two bedrooms. If you decide to stick with BCV you should consider the 2BD with 2 Queen Beds in the second room.

But to get that configuration, you'll need BCV points to book it before seven months out. More than likely, you get either the dedicated two bedroom with one queen and a double sleeper sofa in the second bedroom or the lockoff two bedroom with the same set up (except a second entrance to the villa and a kitchenette).

There are only 25 two bedroom villas with two queen beds in the second bedroom at BCV.

If you have two families, you'll have to figure out how to split up the villa if you get the two bedroom villa. If you get two studios (for two familes), it will be equal. But they will not connect and might not be close to each other.

I do prefer the idea of the two queen layout, and that is what my friend is requesting on Monday when she books at her home resort, SS. If the only way to get BCV at the 7mo mark is to take 1q, 1sofa bed, that is fine too. The most likely scenario will be my friend and her DH in the master, her 2 kids on the sofa bed in the LR and then myself and my 2 kids in the second BR. DH isn't able to make this trip. We see many advantages to sharing the 2BR vs 2 studios: full K, W/D, and we plan on having one "girls night" for my friend and I and one "couples night" for my friend and her DH. It will be a lot easier to have those nights where one adult is putting four kids to bed if we are in a 2BR villa.

With the make up of your crew, I think you will be comfortable in any of the 2BR's, particularly since most of the gang are small children. You may even have luck in getting a dedicated 2BR with 2 queens at BCV at 7 months that time of year. I was able to get one for the last week of July this year. We are only doing 4 nights there, but I could have gotten a full week.

I am curious as to how you decided BCV as your first choice? July will be our first time staying at BCV, so I cannot comment on resort specifics. But, given the time of year you are going, there is a good chance that there will be minimal pool time. Plus, I have read threads about how SAB can be a little overwhelming with small children.

If you happen to hit a cold week, some of the other resorts may have more things to do. Consider that BLT has a community hall and a short walk to MK; given the ages of the kids, I am assuming you will spend a few days there. You also have the monorail to Poly and GF for other activities and dining. AKV also has a community hall with daytime activities, as well, and the animals; it is a minor theme park in and of itself. BWV has the same floor plans as BCV with better views, more dining options close by, the Boardwalk entertainment, and mini-golf close by. Just some things to think about, in case you hit cold weather.

Late January is a great time to go from a crowd standpoints. You may not even need FP+ for most of the trip!
