I am looking for some advice from those of you who have taken young kids (mine will be 3 and 6 mos when we go) to Disney....

What type of attractions did you do?

What were some of the best places to eat for kids (I have 2 girls)?

Where are some great resorts (keeping in mind 6 month old feeding and sleeping arrangements)?

Any advice is helpful...

LOL! Now that I read your signature, I see we have the same taste in resorts! I didn't see that before I answered.:rotfl:

Have a magical trip!

you can google the height requirement for rides with your toddler. i forgot what it is. you can do a baby swap with your partner and you both can ride the ones your kids can't. like space mountain, big thunder mountain railroad, splash mountain, mission space...rides of that nature.

i'd say about 90% of the rides are great for both your kids at magic kingdom.
my son liked the safari at AK and the nemo show....we saw a few animals, but went at his pace. it was his 1st day at the parks and i wouldn't say overwhelmed him, but i didn't want to wear him out too much ;)

we put thomas in between us (hubby and i) for a lot of rides. he rode buzz lightyear and toy story mania and it didn't bother him. i think he fell asleep on buzz...must have loved all that spinning. lol

my son was 9 months on his first trip and we carried bottles filled with formula, a water bottle to fill his bottles, wipes, diapers, yogurt (the kind that didn't need to be in the fridge), a few jars of baby food and baby crack...mum mum crackers. if he wouldn't eat the yogurt, baby food or take a bottle, he'd have his mum mum crackers. lol that stuff is really baby crack!

he also did have a few bites of whatever we would have on our plates. he was really easier than i expected. we ate in epcot a lot (food and wine fest and there's more restaurants to eat at). we didn't get to do any character meals last year because of the whole 90 day reservation thing, but this year we have a few planned.

they have high chairs in all restaurants and we found that the waiters/ess paid more attention to him than us. LOL in morocco they loved him!

we got a backpack and it was easy to hook on the umbrella stroller and then take off when we got on a ride.

if you have more questions, IM me...

Basically you can take your kids on anything without a height restriction, and all the shows.

As far as eating, bear in mind that my kids will eat anything, but their favorites are: HDDR, 50's PTC, Crystal Palace, Chef Mickey's, Ohana, and CRT.

my toddler LOVES barnstormer she rode it 30 minutes straight at closing time at MK last time we were there (there were no lines it was february). other than that the only thigns we avoided were the big rollacoasters, splash, and TOT and star wars, she did pretty much everything else even the family raft ride at blizzard beach.

We went when DS was 2.5 and DD was 6 months and had a great trip. Taking care of DD was easier than I planned for.

What type of attractions did you do? Almost anything that didn't have a height restriction. Granted we went during Easter week so we had to selective, but here is a sampling: MK - HM, JC, POTC, Dumbo, Philharmagic, train, Monster's Inc LF, Tiki Room, Barnstormer (with my 2 yr old). Would have done Riverboat, HoP, CoP, Country Bears had we more time. EP - Gran Fiesta was really the only ride we did here - the lines were too long for SE. We spent a lot of time at WS exploring. DS loved WS. DHS - Playhouse Disney Live went over like gang busters. We explored a lot here too. We skipped a lot of the shows due to loudness (Indiana Jones/Lights! Motor! Action) and the fact that DS didn't know about the characters (B&TB/VOTLM). AK - DS and I rode KJ - DH didn't want DD on the bumpy trucks, but others have done it with no problem. We did a TON of exploring here too. Both kids loved doing the walking trails... lots to look at and nice quiet places without being trampled.

What were some of the best places to eat for kids (I have 2 girls)? We did mostly CS meals. AK - Pizzafari, MK - Pinocchio Village Haus, EP - American pavillion, can't recommend that one, we didn't eat at DHS. Our 1 TS meal was Ohana and it was great. Both kids did well with the breakfast there. Lots of fruit, biscuits, meats, and juice and the characters were great.

Where are some great resorts? IMO, it depends on what you guys like. The values are larger than life in their theming and have fountains for the kids, can get noisy with your neighbors. The mods will offer you more room and a quieter atmosphere. We were able to stash a pack n play at CSR with no trouble to the rest of our room. And we didn't hear a peep the entire trip.

Now, for things to take...
Disposable EVERYTHING will be your friend. Sippy cups, spoons, changing pads, bottles (if you go that route), bibs... We stocked up on take n toss spoons and cups and it was great. We didn't have to worry about hauling dirty stuff with us. The disposable bibs were perfect for that too.

We used the Playtex drop-ins of both kids, so they made life easier on the road. We took 2 bottle shells and 4 nipples for our trip. Split our stash in half and swapped everything out on our day breaks. We also took our Munchkin bottle drying rack (to clean the nipples and bottle shells), bottle brush, and a small bit of dish soap.

We took our own water to keep for baby and put our formula AND cereal in those little 3 chamber thingys and refilled on break. We also got the travel wipe carriers and refilled that on break so we didn't have to lug around a large wipe container (I think the Huggies ones can hold the most wipes). We took our own double stroller. Made sure to have rain gear and sunshades for that and we used both... in the same day... ;)

I'm sure there's something I'm forgetting. I'll add on if I remember. :goodvibes
