We have a confirmed case at our school now, we break up on friday so its too late to panic now

Oh dear-any more confirmed cases?.x.We have a confirmed case at our school now, we break up on friday so its too late to panic now![]()
I hope your cousin+her son are well-have they been given the Tamiflu or have they been told to stay at home+take paracetamol etc?.x.We have had a letter from school today to advise what the NHS have advised them of symptoms to look out for and to wash hands use a tissue etc.
They havent said there are any cases within the school tho, its pretty scary
My cousin & her son have been diagnosed with it![]()
I have been told that high risk people are--Asthmatics,Heart+Kidney,Lung problems,Under 5's,Over 65's,Epilepsy,Pregnant.I personally would say yes, that your children would be classed as at risk(but only by what i have been told).Like i did i would say if you can take them out of school.x.We have had confirmed cases here in Burton and there are rumours its at my sons school, one is at home on GCSE study leave (but went on a school trip to Drayton Manor yesterday)the other is year 8 and is in school as normal. I wouldn't normally worry but we are going away next week and don't want to be laid low over there! One had asthma as a youngster but doesn't seem to have suffered for a few years now and the other had a heart op at birth so I don't know if they are classed at risk or not.
We have 7 cases in my office now. I suffer from asthma too, so I understand your concerns - whenever I get a cold it always seems to make my asthma worse.
Somehow I missed this thread??
I don't blame you Michelle, it's the end of term so the girls aren't going to miss that much other than some fun stuff. It's better to be safe than sorry. x
Exactly,i do feel a little sorry for them both though,it was Dd8 Sports Day today,Dd4 had her open evening today+missed meeting her new teacher,as in Sep she will be leaving Nursery+going into reception,Dd4 should be going to a party tomorrow+another next week but were not letting her go as there both with kids from Nursery+other schools.I feel really bad,but would feel even worse if i sent them+they got Swine Flu.
But they both know that there not on there Hols till next Friday and i have been 'home schooling' them.Maths+Reading+Spelling for Dd8 and Reading,Counting,Shapes+Colours for Dd4.x.
Swine flu is also in my childrens school - as i believe is now the majority not the minority - I have asked advice from the medical proffesion about what to do with sending kids to school as my ds8 is immune suppresant and although he is not at school at the moment my other 3 kids are there!! The advice i have recieved unamiously is to send them as Swine flu is in our community so even keeping them off is not going to protect them ! We could catch it from the supermarket trolley, the person behind us in a que, cashpoint buttons etc
So although we have been advised to be extra vigilant for my little ones coming down with any symptoms the advice has been carry on as normal !!
Ths does worry me but I do see why that advice has been given unless im going to wrap them up in bubble wrap and not go out we cant protect them from it !!
Hoping this makes sense to others who are reading this x
