We are going to MK tomorrow. Our passes expire soon and I won't renew this year - mostly because I am recovering from a bad and very expensive accident.

I can walk a short way but I cannot climb stairs. We intend to rent an electric wheelchair but I am worried about how to get from the parking lot to MK. I probably cannot get on the tram. My dd said she would drop me at the kennel, park the car and bring my own wheelchair to get to the monorail.

If she does all that, what do we do with the wheelchair while I use the ECV?

Is it possible to valet park at the Poly and ride the monorail into the park?

Thanks for your help and advice. It's been a long haul but 5 1/2 months ago I was completely bedridden so we have come a long way and there doesn't seem like so much to go.

I don't have time for a long response, but there is information that will be helpful to you in the disABILITIES FAQs thread. There is a section about parking that talks about the situation you are in.
Just let the parking lot CMs know that you have a wheelchair, but can't get onto the tram. They will direct you either to a drop off point (all the parks have one) or a spot that you won't need to use the tram.

I'm not clear if you are bringing a manual wheelchair - since you mention you are renting an 'electric wheelchair'. The parks rent ECVs (also called Electric Scooters), but don't rent 'electric/power' wheelchairs, so if you want to rent an ECV in the parks, make sure to use that term, not electric wheelchair.
The wheelchair/stroller rental area would be able to store your own wheelchair for you.
This time of the year is not traditionally really busy, so you may have no trouble renting an ECV in the parks. It is possible for them to run out, especially in busy times or if you get to the park later in the day. So, you do need to be prepared that you might have to use the manual wheelchair if they have run out (but I don't think you will have much trouble right now).

You may want to take some phone numbers with you for the off-site rental places in case you find a problem; there are some recommended places listed in the disABILITIES FAQs thread near the top of the disABILITIES Board. I am actually going to move this thread to the other disABILITIES Board because that one is more aimed at WDW travel and I think you will get more answers there.

As Sue said, check out the FAQ. If you tell them you have a wheelchair, they'll park you close enough to get to the ferry / monorail (be aware that the monorail has a very steep ramp to get to and from it, though. You might be better off on the boat).

No, I'm afraid you can't park at the hotel then hop to the parks. You can only park at the hotels if you are staying there, or if you are visiting the hotel itself (in which case I think you are given a parking permit lasting about two hours).

Good luck and have a fun day at MK! :goodvibes
