Could anyone offer an opinion on a stay from Christmas Day through until 4th Jan at either a CBR Pirate room or ASMo preferred room?
I will be traveling as a family of 4 (2 girls 6 & 4 years old) who are believe they are princessess not pirates. :)

However my main concern is the bus system and obvious comfort levels between the moderate vs Value.

Thanks in advance.

We stayed at CBR one time and hated it - so for that reason I would choose the value resort.

I'm sure others have had good experiences at CBR and can offer better advice towards that resort besides my one bad experience.

Also, because your girls are into princesses I wouldn't think the pirate room would be as enjoyable.

CBR is our favorite moderate and second favorite out of all the WDW resorts. However, with the major construction that's removed some important amenities I can't recommend it. We have thoroughly enjoyed our stays at Movies and can recommend it.

Pirate rooms have double beds, whereas the rest of the resort have queen size beds. This is a huge deal for me. if you want to stay at CBR, i'd go for a regular room with queen beds.

In your current situation since both CBR and ASMo have double beds, i'd just pick ASMo. The theme is so fun...your kids will love it. Bonus is that you save money too....and at least at ASMo you have one BUS stop vs a million stops at CBR. :)

For now, with construction at CBR, I would recommend ASMo. Once construction is finished at CBR, I would go with any room except pirate rooms, but recommend CBR over any value - except maybe AoA for some groups.

Right now I'd avoid CBR with all the construction. If you're talking Christmas 2018, I might take a chance on CBR though. I have found that CBR is one of those places people either LOVE or DESPISE.

ASMo preferred all the way. Drove by CBR last week and it looks horrible.

In this case you are talking about:
- Movies - 2 Full Beds and CBR - 2 Full "bunk" Beds. The mattresses are different, not normal.
- Movies Preferred so close to main everything and CBR Pirates, the farthest you can get from all.
- Buses, I honestly like Movies better, one stop and holidays you will rarely share.

Bottom line if dansdad, says no, listen, go to Movies.

We loved the Pirate rooms, but they are away from everything and not an easy walk with young children... However since they are away from everything, they are away from the construction too! The pool makes that resort really awesome for kids. The buses were pretty good. We hardly waited. Remember the All Star Resorts share the same buses, CBR doesn't share with another resort.

The All Stars rarely share buses. They each have their own way more often than they share. And even when they share it is still quicker than making the rounds to all of the bus stops at CBR. You can have up to 6 other stops at CBR. You can only have 2 other stops among all of the All Stars.

Plus, keep in mind that "awesome" feature pool at CBR will also be a long way away from the Pirate rooms.

MOST of the time AllStars do not share buses. I have stayed probably 6-8 times in last few years and only a few times did we share and that was to Disney Springs, understandable, and to AK BUT that was before Pandora and the new bus depot.

ASMo has 1920 rooms with most having capacity of 4, very few with 2.
CBR has approx 1546 rooms with most having 5, some having 4 and some having 2.
At this point they are approximately the same size give or take a few hundred people.
Not enough to let buses be a contention.
