Advice on my ADRs? Did I miss anything?

I am brand new to this board and have only been to Disney World once before. The last time I was there we stayed at an off-site condo, and just ate whatever we could find as cheaply as possible, packed snacks, and ate at the condo when we could. This time, we have reservations at Pop Century for Sept. 11-20th and I just booked free dining this morning:cool1:

Our party is three adults (my mom, cousin and me) and my 1 1/2 year old. I tried to book character meals that were easily accessible from the parks because I'm not at all familiar with Disney transportation and don't know how to get to the other places...

Here is what I've booked....
Thurs, Sept 11 Garden Grill for dinner
Fri, Sept 12 Cinderella's Royal Table for lunch
Sat, Sept 13 Storybook Lunch
Sun, Sept 14 Cinderella's Gala Feast for dinner
Mon, Sept 15 Donald's Safari Breakfast
Tues, Sept 16 Crystal Palace for lunch
Wed, Sept 17 Liberty Tree for dinner
Thurs, Sept 18 Supercalifragilistic Breakfast
Fri, Sept 19 Play N Dine at Hollywood & Vine for breakfast

Has anyone else booked all character meals for their TS meals on the dining plan instead of the fancier TS meals? Our goal is to see as many characters as possible without spending too much time traveling or waiting in huge lines to meet characters. Did we miss any 'must-dos' or include anything that is terrible? Any advice or feedback would be appreciated. Thank you!

ya got some good ones in there, good choices... nothing wrong with using your credits however you would like. Some things that work well are big breakfast buffet before the parks open. Counter service for late lunch early dinner. Also CRT is two credits, you get more bang for the buck to pay cash for that and use the credits elsewhere from a value proposition.

You found the right spot to ask questions... throw them out there, we'll make up answers.

:welcome:

Thanks! I know CRT takes two credits, but we will end up with just enough TS credits to do all of them. There will only be two adults eating the last three days--the third person in our room has other plans, so she won't be using her allotted TS meals those days and we will use them to make up for the extra CRT credits.

I've got more questions too....

I booked all of our ADRs before we had the dining plan (including CRT) so I paid for it on my credit card. Can I call and have it switched to DDP instead so I'm not charged or will they automatically refund the credit card when we use the DDP once we get there?

Also, I am anticipating a melt-down when all the little girls get a magic wand at CRT and my daughter doesn't because she is under 3. Does anyone know if I can buy the wand separately?

How long does it take to eat at a character meal generally (menu and buffet)? I've never eaten in the sit down restaurants before so I have no idea how long it takes.

Thank you!!!!

Well you haven't paid for the meals yet, it is just a hold on your credit card so if you cancel pre- to your ADR they can hold you somewhat responsible. I do not think we have paid for DDP yet, we always do it when we get there, and get our tickets and room, it is one of those lets do it now sort of things, though it could have changed for 2008. I think it is going to be fine, and if there is one you are thinking hm I am not liking this choice, it is really easy to call Disney Dine and switch. Just make sure it is not one of those credit card hold ones.

Don't worry about the wand at CRT. We were there for dinner back in march with our daughters who are 1 &2, and they gave them a wand, no questions asked. I was a little worried about that as well.

Thanks for the info about the wand and CRT charges. I am still looking for information on how long it takes to have a menu or buffet meal. Since we usually just eat on the run, I wanted to know how much park time we'll be spending in restaurants...
