I just made reservations for August 27 - Sept. 3 and am second guessing myself because of comments made about doing things after labor day. We are pretty flexible with our plans but I want to make dining plans. (Sorry, it has taken me a week to figure out all of these abbreviations and I still haven't memorized them so I won't try to use them for fear of confusing the masses!) Please advise, all of you fellow Disney fanatics!

Welcome!!!
Lots of great advice here!!!
We've been several times at the end of August. We are from up north and do not get enough summer time. It is hot yes, but if you take it slow, take breaks and drink plenty of water you should be fine.
No matter what time of year you plan to go, you'll never be able to do it all.

Have a plan and have a good time!

What sort of advice are you exactly looking for? We went last year from August 22 - September 2 and had a blast. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

Can I jump in? I was wondering how the crowds are in August. I can take my DGD for the package offered but she will be just starting school in Sept. Are the crowds outrageous?

(end of August thru a few days after Labor Day) it was great. Our first three days everything except Soarin was a walk on. Then on the Saturday that started Labor Day weekend the parks got quite crowded (in the evening) and stayed that way until Monday and then things slowed down a bit. We are going again this August and I moved our arrival forward to August 22 -29. That we will will leave before the Labor Day weekend starts and I'm hoping all our days will be like the first three last year were......Fantastic and no lines! Enjoy your visit!

Thank you. I was looking at the same time frame so that DGD is not overwhelmed with the end of trip first day of school thing

Wow! I appreciate the advice. It puts my mind at ease. We've been 3 times before. This will be our first time with 4 kids!!! Our last day is actually that Saturday before Labor Day Monday and I figure if the previous days are all ok it will be worth it. Any more suggestions?! I needed the encouragement!!!

We love that week. :thumbsup2 We went then in 2002 and 2003 and are going again this year (8/27-9/2). Its still summer hot, but the crowds have died down a bit.

I have to agree that it is warm but we tend to go this time of year each year. The crowds are manageable and you take your time you should be fine.

About August crowds....we have Florida resident seasonal annual passes and the month of August is a black out period for us. This is Disney's way of saying please stay home and cool because we have more people in the parks than we have space for. Really, they are doing us a big favor and we just go to the other parks we have annual passes for in August.

:cool1:

We are also going in the end of August. We figured who much hotter could it actually be than July? Friends of ours went last year and said it was hot and pplan for a rain shower every afternoon, but hey the crowds were light. :thumbsup2
