Advice on Disney dining experience card

Will be checking into BWV on March 3. Thought I would go over to Epcot and pick up my new AP with DVC discount. This will be my first AP purchase. But I would like to have the DDE card to use during my stay and receiv the AP discount. Should I call and buy the AP earlier and get a voucher. Then call DDE and use the number on the voucher to get the DDE discount????

yes several have - and since it will take awhile to get everything - I would do it know

But dont do it too early. Unlike the AP, the DDE starts ticking when you buy it through the end of that month (I believe)

You won't get your DDE physical card in time for your trip (even if you ordered it today), so I would wait until the week before I go and order it. They will send you an email (mine came the next day). Time wont start ticking on your AP voucher until you actually turn them into APs and use them, but you needing it so close to the first of March makes it a bit tricky.

If you can, wait until March 1. That way your DDE will be good through the end of March and will run basically the same timeline as your AP (although, the end of Feb to March 3 is not that much "off" timeline wise).

I just ordered my AP and DDE today

The AP I will pick up at will call window and the DDE sent me email Letter to bring.

There is an experation date of 3-31-06 I think it is great! (But the letter is only valid through end of my trip)

We got our AP's on our last trip, Jan8-Jan17, 2005. We hadn't heard that much about the DDE because we aren't FL residents. We bought our AP's one morning and my husband called the 800 number for DDE (listed in our little folder that you get with your AP) that same morning and they faxed a letter to Guest Relations in The Studios so we could use it for our lunch reservations that day. I don't think it matters how you handle it because they were very accommodating.

We just got our card last week while we were there. Called on Tues and she faxed the enrollment to the BCV for us. It was under my door in time to use it at Ohana's! I am so excited. It has already paid for itself!

I called today from work at lunchtime to order the card. She asked if I was an AP holder, I said yes, she did not ask for any numbers. She asked when my next trip was, I told her March 2nd, she said she would e-mail my confirmation. By time I got home my confirmation was there. It said my card will expire 03/31/06. The actual card will take 4 to 6 weeks.

Thanks for the info. I did not realize that the card begins as soon as you order it.

When would you order a DDE card for a May 1 trip??
