Advice on CRT please

So I'm thinking of cancelling my family's CRT ressie for breakfast but it would be out first time going. We have the regular dining plan and going deluxe would give us way to much food but we already went over our table service for just a couple. I was going to pay OOP for Cindy's but now Im debating just canceling it. Any advice on it? I have two boys 5 and 3. I got all the other good breakfast character meals (tusker, crystal palace). We decided on doing Epcot so those TS are what's making me think if canceling, I got via Napoli and biergarten for my hubby. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Would it be worth it to pay OOP for the other character breakfast and use my two TS for Cindy's?

I'd check out the menus and decide which table service would be the least expensive and pay out of pocket for the least expensive. I usually pay out of pocket for CRT, as I find it usually is less that two table services. We usually have lots of character meals. The character meals are usually more expensive than a regular TS. You'll have to look at what you'll anticipate spending on your ADRs and then decide if it's better to use the 2 TS or pay OOP.

I'm sure there are others much more knowledgable than I on these matters.

Good luck and enjoy your holiday. Karen

We are paying OOP for CRT. Since I made the reservation before I had booked the dining plan, I just thought it would be easier. This way I get 2 extra sit down meals. I have been debating just cancelling CRT myself, but both of my kids are pretty excited about Cinderella, so I think we are going to keep it.

We have paid OOP for CRT and I do agree it is probably less than using two TS credits. Are your boys princess crazy? My DS likes the princesses, especially Aerial, but CRT isn't one of his favorites. The atmosphere isn't very lively and he likes the livelier character meals like Chef Mickey's. He did like the sword he got from CRT though.

Your other choices sound great. One you might consider is Whispering Canyon Cafe in Wilderness Lodge. The skillets are amazing, the wait staff is very funny, and they even have stick pony races for the kids. Do you have Ohana for breakfast? That's another good one, especially with kids your age because it isn't a buffet - it is served family style. I seem to remember breakfast at Ohana being one of the less expensive character meals so that would be one I would pay OOP for and use the 2 TS credits for CRT. You might want to check the menus on AllEars.net and see how much it would cost to pay OOP.

We will be flying into Orlando and likely won't get to the resort until mid-afternoon and plan to use our CS credit for dinner and then will use the extra TS for CRT. Our ADR is for lunch and will cost ~ $200 if we pay OOO. Much cheaper to grab a quick lunch at the airport before we head to the ME when we arrive.

We are doing breakfast at tusker, crystal palace and then CRT. I got dinner at Ohana and chef mickeys the day we arrive, BOG, and biergarten. I think I'm just going to keep it and pay OOP. It's already prepaid and then we will just worry about paying for one more OOP when we get there. I will look at the menus and decide which would be cheapest. Thanks for all the advice :) glad I'm not the only one who thinks the way I do lol

We have always been on the dinning plan, which is way more food than we can eat, especially in the heat of the summer. We could never to the delux dinning plan, as it's too much food. I always have more ADRs at TS than credits, so I know I will always being paying OOP for some. Don't think you'll regret your decision.

Enjoy! Karen
