It seems like everyone is selling digital photo frames and the prices are all across the range. Besides size of the frame playing a role in the price, what are the other features that I should be looking out for? Why would a 7" frame cost under $100 one place and run up to over $200 somewhere else? :confused3 What is the big difference? Does anyone have any recommendations?

TIA!!

I would like some information too. I bought 2 for gifts for the grandparents and I'm not sure I got good ones. I can't buy the real expensive ones so I had to compromise. Are there any frames out there that have internal memories so you don't have to use memory cards? Or are they the expensive ones? Any help would be appreciated!

Not sure I can be of much help. I bought a digital frame for my dad for Christmas - Macy's had one on sale about a month ago, PanDigital 6.1 on sale for $59.99. My father is VERY technology-challenged - years ago when his company wanted him to learn to use a computer, he took early retirement so he wouldn't have to touch a computer!:rotfl:

Anyway, this PanDigital is nice enough for him. It has a 128mb internal memory, but it also accepts a whole bunch of memory cards. I got an SD card and loaded a whole bunch of photos on it for him. You can also record music to the memory card and the music plays during the slideshow.

What I don't like (and it's something you don't know until you actually use the thing) is that it's set up mainly for landscape-oriented photos. For portrait photos, it cuts off the bottom of the photo. Fortunately, most of the photos I loaded to the SD card are landscape, so it's not too big of a deal. Now if I bought this for myself, I wouldn't like it one bit.

This one also has a timer - you can leave it plugged in and set it to show the slideshow only during certain times. Also has an alarm, but I haven't tried that out yet.

I would think that the more expensive frames would be able to accommodate portrait shots without just cutting off the bottom, and would probably also have a higher resolution screen, too.

Hopefully by next year the expensive frames will come down enough in price that I can actually buy one for myself!;)

The strange thing is the 2 i bought don't have directions on how to load photos. just insert the memory card from your camera. That's easy and all but I guess I didn't really pay attention because there must not be any internal memory. One I know has a usb port so does it have internal memory? It should say it in the directions, right?:confused3
