I am starting to look into airfare from PHL to MCO for our December 6-13 trip. I had a horrible time trying to find airfare for our July trip and finally broke down and booked at $225 (fees included) per person. I was able to get the times I wanted, but I have never paid that much. Right now, on the USAirways website, which is my preferred airline, I can get tickets for the exact times I want (early AM departure, late PM return) for $207 (fees included). Still not great, but a lot better than July. I just don't want to be playing the airfare game for months on end. Plus, this is my mothers first trip, so I want to keep the cost reasonable. Does anyone have an opinion on if I should take this fare?

You asked for advice:
Don't do anything until mid-July.
Take the first good price break that comes along after that.
After mid-July, be sure to check prices at least weekly (daily if you're as compulsive as me).
I'm trying to take this advice myself. It's actually not too hard as advance prices are sky-high right now, and whatever you buy has a good chance of being cancelled or rescheduled.

BUY NOW..... 207 is a great price . It is less than 99 each way per person before taxes. 10 years ago 99 each way was a good price. How much lower do you think it is going to go ??

My opinion...buy it now. I flew for $340 w/ one stop this past April w/ United. This coming June we're heading back to Orlando and I went ahead and booked our flight for $240 w/ fee non-stop with NWA with the time flight that we wanted. I have seen $212...but it wasn't the time that we wanted. So I opt to pay more due to time flight...but still this is a much better deal for me rather than paying $340 or more!!

Book it($207) as fast as you can!!!!! Whenever you can get non-stop with good times, for around $200 or less..........jump on it.

Even if they switch your times, the airline has to put you on a direct flight, since that is what you originally booked. The best advantage is you don't have to keep watching the net every day for fares.

I am looking for the exact same dates Puffkin also from Philadelphia. I have been so depressed for the last day since I got an email from Travelocity for 155 R/T (plus tax comes to $173.50) for travel up to October 15:(

I am going to stick it out, our plans right now are to drive so its not as big of a deal, but I am to the point where if I see anything around 180's no higher then 200, I am booking right away!!!

Maybe we will fly down together :D Good luck and please POST as soon as you find ANYTHING!!!

Just my two cents worth, but every vacation article I've read lately says if you're planning on flying, buy now because the rates are only going to go up! And $207 RT sounds pretty good to me. JMO tho.

Good luck!

Puffkin - we are going down at the same time, except that we are leaving a few days earlier (12/3 - 12/13). I got $159 from Delta a few weeks ago. Since then we have been switched to Song and the fare has gone skyhigh! I think what you have is good. Remember, if the fares go down then you can always get vouchers to use towards your next trip.

Thanks everyone!

We decided to book. Got the fare of $206.60 (all fees and taxes included). We booked directly through USAirways, so I will keep my eyes out to see if fares drop and call for vouchers. That would be great for our honeymoon! I am so unsure about this whole airfare thing right now. Thanks again.
