Just curious if it is worth calling Disney every few days to see if any rooms open up with free dining? We are going in October and the discount applied for our dates, but of course, they were "sold out" at our resort and for our room category. I know as people update their reservations that things could open up, but does anyone have any experience with this (that they could eventually say that the discount would apply?). Just don't want to waste my time calling repeatedly if the consensus is that it is not worth it!
TIA!

Disney only sets aside a certain number of rooms for FD. Once they are gone, they are gone. Even if someone were to cancel a FD package at the resort you want, that room will go into the general inventory. Not back into FD.

Huh, that's weird because I asked about that when I called and the CM that I talked to said that something could open up if other people changed their reservations. Oh well, thanks for the advice. I guess I'll just see if a room only discount comes out. If not, we'll live I guess. Excited anyway.

you could always check it online. That's would probably be easier and faster than calling. Just go to the WDW special offers page, click on the free dinning offer and then fill in your dates & resort from there. If there is availability, you can book it online and cancel the old one later, or call to get the reservation changed.

When reservations are canceled they will open back up for free dining. I've switched resorts when the one I really wanted finally opened up. Check online several times a day and when you see it, call right away. :thumbsup2
