We just decided to plan a last minute trip for the week after thanksgiving. I've been looking up dinner reservations but not much is available. I guess i will just keep looking to see if anything becomes availabe or call for a reservation while we are there. Anything else we can do to get a better chance at getting some decent reservations? I'm normally a planner and booking my dinner reservations at exactly the 180 day mark so this is making me a little anxious. I do not want to eat counter service all week long.

I have been in your shoes...

Try the restaurants in Downtown Disney (Raglan Road and House of Blues) and if you walk across the street to the Hilton at Downtown Disney there is a Bennihana's that is very good.

You might also have some luck when you get on site through your Concierge at the hotel. Things come up for all sorts of reasons.

constant checking! I have also had luck as a walk up, the week after thanksgiving. Alot of people make ressies and never show, so sometimes they can take you. Or check while you are there via a phone app, internet or call... People cancel all the time!

Book your ADRs even if they aren't for your first choice restaurants. At least that way you have something. Keep looking on a regular basis to see if something you really want comes up but if they don't, at least you'll have somewhere to eat.

For me, I think this is a great way to get my family to try new restaurants. Many people have found real gems by being forced stepping away from their tried and true favourites. You may be pleasantly surprised to find that some place you've skipped over time and time again actually turns out to be a new favourite.

What IS available? Why don't you want to dine at any of these restaurants?

Also keep an eye on the ADR cancellation thread.. maybe even subscribe, so you can hop on and book a ressie, if something cancels.

There are restaurants available but either it's at a different resort or the times are really late. I have a toddler and late dining hours just do not work for us. Also, i find it an inconvenience to have to go to a different resort to dine at especially if it's not nearby a park that we can stop at afterwards. I will just keep trying and see if anything pops up.

I'd say book some of the Downtown Disney ones. Rainforest Cafe is so fun, and Capn' Jack's is great too. I also love Raglan Road and Wolfgang Puck.

Since you're staying at SSR, DTD restaurants are a good place to start. You can also try monorail restaurants and Epcot resort restaurants because they have easier transportation compared to other resort restaurants. Search by location and see what the online reservation system suggests.

Also, the Turf club right in SSR is a great choice as well. And the Boardwalk is full of wonderful options. We love Flying Fish :)
