I have spent a few days going over the boards, but I think I am still a little confused. We took the tour over our last vacation and loved what we saw. Now we are big Disney fans, but we are more than happy to only visit once every two years or so (although this might change when we have kids in 5-10 years). When we go we like to stay at least one week.
I guess my question is, is it easy to use your points to stay at other places? They have listed a TON of places you can use your points all over the globe, and I really like that idea. However, I don't want to buy a bunch of points and end up only being able to stay a Disney World (not that it would be the end of the world, but I would appreciate more options).
Our tour guide made it sound like it was easy to use our points elsewhere. I am looking for some people with real-world experience. Thank you so much for your time and help!!

Not as easy as you might think, because it involves owners in those "other places" giving up their week. One thing you might think about is to buy the minimum of points and with banking and borrowing use them every other year. That's one of the great flexible features of DVC.
