First I apologize if I posted in the wrong spot.
Planning looked the most appropriate.
DH and I and 2 DDS have a reservation for the next DVC members cruise,
for a cat 4/ deluxe family with verandah, booked with cash and points.
Now of course plans are changed because the kids fall break won't be that week.
What should I do?
Can I try to sell and transfer this reservation to another member interested?
Can I even do that?
Assuming yes, Does it have to be a DVC member or could I sell it on the rent/trade board to anybody?
Am I correct that I would not be able to deposit my points back to my account been those converted into reservation points?
Thanks for any input,
docbrown

how old are the children? if they are not high school age, i would keep the reservations. junior school, ask the teachers what will be missed, elementary age--same. good luck!

Yes, you can rent that reservation to another member.

Not sure why anone who isn't a member would want to go on a cruise where everyone else is a member. You'd have to ask MS if a non member could go. If it were me, I'd just cancel and make someone on the waitlist happy.

If you cancel the reservation, the points will go back into your account, but retain their reservation status. That means the points cannot be used for a resrvation at a DVC resort or an exchange. They can be used for something in the Disney Collection (including another cruise), or something in the Adventurer's Collection or Conceirge Collection. Reservation points expire at the end of your use year if not used before then.

Some options for you to consider:

Book another cruise for the time your children are off school - you'll have to pay the fee again, but at least the points won't "go to waste".

Use the points for one of the other WDW resorts - maybe you've always wanted to stay at the GF or the AKL conceirge?

Use the points for a long weekend somewhere - the Conceirge Collection has some really nice resorts.

Best wishes -

Thank you disney queen and carolMN for your reply.
I will check with member service tomorrow.
I sure hate to loose those points.... but maybe we will be able to use them for something else as CarolMN said.
