OK im a debate with my friend on how to store all of the pix we dont scrapbook....

she scraps and then puts her pix (by year) in a 3 ring binders with different sized photo sleeves (she can add in a page here and there)

I scrap and then leave all the rest on my computer and in plastic photo cases labeled...

what do you do? and what is a good way?:confused3

All of my photos are on my computer. We have the Apple TV, so we can shoe the pictures on our tv. When we play music from our itunes library through our surround sound receiver, the pictures automatically start as a screen saver for the tv. I am constantly finding my 3yr old sitting in front of the tv watching the photos change. She loves it and so do my in laws.:happytv:

I usually just store my photos I haven't scrapped the old fashioned way, in a photo album. I still have lots that are on my computer but my kids love looking at the pics of when they where little that are not scrapped.

I recently purchased an external hard drive from walmart for around $80 and have been moving all my pics to that. That way if for some reason my computer crashes I still have them. All it takes is one nasty virus and bye bye years of pics.

Most of the photos from the last 5 years are on the computer until I print them out to scrap.

Those from earlier are stored in a box until I get around to scrapping them. Those that I have already scrapped but have extras of either stay in the box or more usual for me are either thrown away or given to someone else in the photo- I don't have space or want to move lots of extra photos- I know that I am unusual in doing this but since I am in a position of moving every few years I see no point in moving pictures no one looks at.

I generally try to plan my layouts ahead, and only print the pictures I'm going to scrap. Everything else is stored on my computer - by year and general topic (Christmas 2009, Summer 2009, WDW 2009, etc). I save so much money only printing what I'm going to scrap (so I can spend it on more supplies).

thanks for the replies! I am getting HEAVY pressure to print those pix out and put them in a binder/modified scrapbook! It's nice to hear what everyone else is doing....THANKS!

Here is an easier way then printing them all.

I burn the folder to a DVD or CD, then I print a thumbnail sheet of all the pics on that CD or DVD. I place them both in a page protector (staples type, for three ring binder). This way if I want to know what is on the CD I don't have to load it, just look at the thumbnails.

Then I put them into three ring binders with dividers that keep them catagorized.

The ones I print are in the CM Large Power Sort box with the file dividers. You can make notes on the dividers and store thousands of pics there. This way I have them if I want them but they are all safe and sound.

hope this helps.
