I've been getting loads of advice on this site and finally registered to post my own questions. We want a camcorder for our trip in March and think that a dvd model might be best for us. We were thinking about buying one when we get to Orlando but I'm not sure if we will be able to play the discs on our dvd player at home. Can anyone offer any advice please.

thanks

It could possibly depend on your home DVD player, it would I assume need to be multi-format.
If it is then I would think you would be okay.

If you have a specific model in mind you could check with the manufacturer in the UK perhaps beforehand?

I believe Camcorder discs are 0 region which means they will play anywhere. Areas of concern may be that the camera would be formatted to NTSC rather than Pal playback which may cause problems for your TV and the good old Customs duty because a Camcorder is bound to be over even the new limits due in next year.
