Advice needed on dinner seating

Greetings, I've done some searches and haven't seen this specific question before so let me give it a try.

Booked a 7-day cruise (3/28/03) for the 4 of us (DVC points and cash), then the in-laws were added (all cash) and the six of us are all sitting together at the early seating. (My DS and DD are 11 and 7).

Now SIL and her 5-yo are trying to book the cruise. While there is cabin availability for the 2 of them, they can not get the early seating with us according to reservation agent she talked with.

Is there a way she can get combined with our group? What's a good approach to try to make this happen? Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Hi Covman! Go ahead and request that the dining be LINKED with DCL and have your SIL waitlisted for main dining. Reservations that are linked as yours are, with one group already in a different dining seating, will get priority for clearing the waitlist. Keep checking back to see if you have cleared, and you almost certainly will eventually. If not, you can still try once onboard to have her seated with you, just go to the time and place listed in the Personal Navigator for dining changes.

Good luck! :)

What if you all moved to late seating? We just got back and I had felt strongly that 8:30 was just too late for 8 and 12 year olds. While early was fine, we requested late for our next trip. We never saw a sunset b/c we had to get to dinner at 6 and it really is a 1 1/2-2 hour thing. The pools are packed on sea days but nearly empty late in the day....but we had to leave to get ready for dinner. We had to leave deck to get ready for dinner as we were sailing out of ports......something I could sit and enjoy for a long time.

Again, early was fine and we enjoyed ourselves, but I think late will work better for us. We weren't really into the shows and since most are, the ship should be fairly deserted in the hours when most are in shows or dinner. We'll end up with "longer" days. The late nights for the kids don't even worry me now. They all kind of got on "island" time and all stayed up late to enjoy the main events in the lab anyway.

I called to make certain the reservations were linked and to explore the possibility of late seating, and after less than 2 minutes of checking the CM said "You are all toghether at the early seating":teeth:
