I am looking to hear from others who have done the Caves, Caverns and Paradise Lagoon excursion in Cozumel. My family, DH, myself, Ds (16) and DD (14) all want to book this excursion. My youngest DS (11) doesn't like to snorkel. I had thought about the Fury Catamaran Sail Snorkel and Beach Party instead so that my youngest could just watch from the boat, but everyone really wants to do the Caves excursion.

From those of you that have gone on this excursion would it be possible for my youngest DS to watch from the sidelines or do you move from one place to another through the water meaning you must get in the water to attend?

Obviously I would pay the full fare, it's not about $$, I just want everyone to get to do what they are happy and comfortable with.

Any insight from those in the know is much appreciated!

We didn't do this but be forewarned that it will involve a longish, often seasickness inducing ferry to the mainland. At least, that's what I've read thru cruisecritic. We have a couple of "delicate" stomachs in our family and chose to stay on the island instead.

If you don't get an answer here, try CC's ports board.

My table mates were fluent in Spanish. When he took the ferry he said the workers on the ferry will make bets as to which passenger will throw up first.

We did the secrete river which we also had to take the ferry. With a bit of help from Dramamine we did well with the crossing. DH gets terribly sea sick, even feels it on the cruise sometimes and did ok as well on the ferry. We loved the secret river, but that is a rough ride to get there. Heck I even dreaded getting back on it afterwards. I don't think we will do it again.
