(ie first 5 nights standard/last 3 concierge) during the same stay? We are currently booked at the Grand Floridian for our Christmas trip. Really want to stay main building concierge, but it is not available for all of our days. It *IS* available for the last 3 nights.

So, how much trouble would it be to physically change rooms? Worth it or not? And should I just book it and then hope more nights open up in the main building?

Thanks!

Moving within a resort is easy. I would definitely do it if I were you.

Also, I would book all your room nights now so you know you have them covered, then keep checking for cancellations in concierge rooms for the dates you are booked in standard. I have done this before, and all the way up until I was at the resort, and have gotten all my dates covered one by one, except for one night (our last night). Good Luck!

I thought it was a lot of trouble. We switched from lagoon view Big Pine Key to a lagoon view Sago Cay room (our choice) and I had to pack everything up and we were done with the BPK room at 11:00 and the new room wasn't ready until 4:00 so it was a lot of trouble with three small kids. I wouldn't change rooms within a resort again - only if we were going from one resort to another. HTH.

what in particular (besides packing/unpacking) was bad? We would be going to DTD and goofing off that day. Wondering why you needed the room (naps)? Thanks for any info!

Glad I found this thread...

DH and I are moving 3 times during our trip due to room availability. We are staying at BWV the entire time, but first 2 nights in a studio, next 4 nights in a 1-bedroom, and final 3 nights in a studio.

We figured on days we were moving, we would just bring our luggage down and have them hold it, go to a park, and then when we got back, just check-in to our new room.

Does anyone know if they will actually move our luggage for us??? :confused3

We usually don't unpack things from our suitcase when we go down...we just live out of them! So, we are thinking the moving shouldn't be too bad. We are actually excited about having the washer/dryer during the middle of our trip! We also don't have kids.....(unless you count my younger brother, 21, who is staying with us! :rotfl: ). So, that should make things less difficult. We will see..... :earsboy:

It was inconvenient because the kids were getting rammy, could have used a rest. They were at Grand Adventures in Cooking from 10-12 which was fine, then we went to the pool and had lunch and met friends. By 4:30 they were ready to get changed and rest before our dinner reservation. It wasn't horrible but it was inconvenient. We do change from Disney to Universal and this year added the Nick Hotel but I keep separate suitcases packed for these moves. It just didn't seem worth the hassle to me. I wish we could have just gotten the room we wanted from the beginning. We spent 7 nights in BIg Pine Key and 8 nights in Sago Cay. If he had just been a move for three nights to the new room I definitely wouldn't have gone for it.

Thank you for the added info! I'm afraid DH would not want to move either, but I really want RPC. I may just hold off and see if it opens up for all the days as we get closer. Maybe someone will cancel!
