hi i love these forums everyone always has great advice. we are planning our trip for july 07 and our plan was to hang out at rpr pool to early afternoon, clean up relax and then head to parks later in the afternoon, is it still hot at that time or bearable and will we miss alot or cause its summer we won't. any advice would be great. thanks

Hi!

I am definately not an expert, but I have been lots of times during different seasons. July will be hot and it will be crowded. However, you are staying at RPR so you will get FOTL with your room card which will help with the lines at the rides. The parks will stay open later during the summer so if you go in the evenings it will be a little cooler. Have a great time!

My first trip was 7 years ago in July and I swore then that I'd NEVER come back in July! That particular summer was brutal.

Since then I've returned twice in July and YES it's hot but as Melisa1 said with the Express it's much more bearable. Most rides are indoors and air conditioned.

I suggest being at the gate 30 min prior to opening. You should be able to get a lotdone before it heats up. IMHO late afternoons/evenings are pretty hot because all the pavement absorbs heat. Then head over to the resort to relax around the pool.

Relax and go in the evening. It should get a little cooler than the afternoon. We do this in June but I have never been in July.

thanks all, we figured that when the sun goes down it won't be beating on you, i know it will still be hot but not the sun actually on top of your heads, also do they run shows later in the day too and do the characters come out later in the day.

I always suggest the two visit approach. Wake up early, visit the parks until noon (that's when it gets real hot in the summer), go back to the hotel to swim, nap, then come back around 6pm as the tired are leaving. Most of the time, it rains between 4-6pm, that's when you can go to an early dinner and pick up some happy hour drinks at the bars.

Some people like to sleep in, but you can take a nap in the afternoon. The early morning visit is good because you can get front seat rides on the coasters, it's not burning hot yet, and there are less people in the walkways, The herd arrives at 11am. That's when you'll notice the park is packed and want to get out of there.

If you sleep in the plan still works, it just means you missed the early morning visit. 5 hours in the evening is plenty of time to go on the rides and see the show at 09:50pm.

thanks robvia, thats what we figured we are there for a whole week so we don't have to rush we could enjoy my only problem was if the shows and characters were out at that time
