Advice needed for our trip in two weeks

Guys!
Sorry if this is the wrong place to post but need some expert advice from UK Disers.

We are off to CBR in two weeks - flying with Virgin and having a tranfer (so no car!)
We would like to buy some trac phones and a few bits and bobs once we arrive (probably day afterlanding) and I would like some advice on the best place to go and the best way to get there:

Is it easy to find a WalMart etc and if so which is the best store to go for to get phons and a few groceries?

Should we order a cab or can we use public transport - last time we got a bus out to Seaworld from the TTC - can you go anywahere else?

If not can we get phones in this country to take with us???
