I am hoping to go in December for 5 days, i have found a package for about €1800 for 2 adults and a child (4) flying from Spain, staying at Seq or nbc, would anyone recommend either one? Is it cheaper to organise things yourself, If staying offsite, would it take away from my little girls enjoyment? Is it easy to get to from the airport or am I better off staying onsite for a first visit/ Thanks and sorry for all the questions.

Never stayed at NBC but loved SL recently. I'm sure NBC is wonderful too though. In fact even the cheaper onsite hotels are great.

We always book direct with Disney and shop around for travel deals but it depends if you want to do that or book the lot in one go. I'm pretty sure booking yourself would be cheaper though.

I don't imagine so. I've heard good things about the off-site hotels.

Not quite sure what you mean by that - do you mean to stay near the airport for the first night? It's not very far at all.

Thanks, I meant is it easy to transport oneself from the airport to the site. Or because this is my first visit , am I better to get a package and have somebody else do the thinking, hahahahaha. :)

You don't need to book a package to use the VEA shuttle, although this is the transport you would receive tickets for if you did. Although not particularly quick, it is a very easy way of getting to the onsite hotels.

Both Sequoia Lodge and Newport Bay are lovely, with no difference in the facilities they offer, and very little difference in price, though NB is a few pounds more. If you do stay at SL I would recommend paying a bit more for a Montana room, which means you will be staying the main building.

Hi lucy5 and welcome to DIS boards :wave2:
Both hotels are lovely but for warmth appeal the Sequoia Lodge appeals more to us.
Off site hotels are nice and served by shuttle bus so you do not have any difficulties getting to the park.
We have stayed in the Holiday Inn which is lovely and with on-line deals can be quite a saving.
As a family of 5 we are often restricted due to the expense of staying on-site and therefore chose Davy Crockett Ranch. Mind you you need to have a car.
Independant booking will most probably have some saving but for the first time you might like the piece of mind of knowing that Disney ahve done it all :goodvibes
