She told me not to buy a park-hopper as DCA is only a 1/2 to one-day park.

But that doesn't make any sense. Say you're at DCA and you're bored stiff (I haven't been yet, so this is not my personal opinion!), and you're ready to leave by noon. If you do, then you're wasting the rest of that day if you don't have a Park Hopper. Once you're out, you can't decide to go to Disneyland for the rest of the afternoon/evening.

I think that's bad advice also. At Disneyland, for multi-day tickets, they only sell hoppers. In a sense, she is just telling you to buy a single day ticket for each day you go? Not effective at all. I love the option to park hop at both DL & WDW. If you get a craving for a certain attraction, you can satisfy it.

Yeah, the beauty of Disneyland is that you can hop over to DCA for a very short time. We'll spend all morning at Disneyland and then go over to DCA, have a quick lunch, ride a couple of things and then go back to Disneyland. Then maybe back to DCA that evening for the Electical Parade and to ride something we fastpassed earlier. I can't imagine not being able to hop. If I didn't have a hopper pass I would make sure I knew for sure where I wanted to spend my day. I think not having the park hopper option would save you $20 for a one day ticket. I didn't even see tickets on the website for more than one day without the park hopping option. I also don't consider DCA a half day park. We may not spend the whole day there but over the couse of a three or four day stay we spend a lot more than a half day total. Its a great park!

We are going to be there for 4-1/2 days so I plan on getting a 5- day pass - hopefully, that's not too much time! We are also going on the tour, Walk in Walt's Footsteps but I read somewhere about a 50th anniversary tour but it's not mentioned on disneyland.com so I'll have to do some more research!

We hop over to DCA for just about every meal. I prefer many of the food choices there over the ones at DL, especially if you are there for more than 3 days.

I really think she's totally wrong!! I have to agree with most of the previous posts, the beauty of DL/DCA is the fact that you can run between. We were just there and we jumped between parks every day!! We'd get a fastpass for Soarin' or GRR in the am then run to DL. You should get a park hopper!!

I'm guessing that hotel sells 1 day single admission tickets?

Bad advice.

It is a great park. It is a good companion to DL - when DL gets crazy busy we always hop over to DCA for a change. It may not be a "stand alone park" yet, but look at WDW......Epcot and Magic Kingdom may have true stand alone status, but MGM and Animal KIngdom do not - but they certainly compliment the other parks well.

My thoughts exactly. I'm sure the clerks there are encouraged to promote their ticket system.
