Hi there,

Thought I'd ask some advice from some health professions about immunizations for adults.
I need to either have a chicken pox titer for college drawn to show I am still immune to it, or have a shot.
The problem is though I don't know how much my new insurance will cover of it. So until I know, I am weighing my options just in case.

If I had chicken pox as a kid, can I still get the vaccine? Or will it have some sort of bad side effect (ie shingles) .

Thanks for the input. :goodvibes

Do you know that you had chickenpox as a child? I would do the titre. ( i had to do this too before nursing school)

shingles can happen after the cp vax but its not common, and its very mild if it does happen.
