Advice for staying in a cabin at Fort Wilderness

I 100% understand - if I stayed there, I'd want that rule in place too. It's only right that resort guests are prioritized. Plus, I enjoy walking - it's cooler and so beautiful this time of year. (It just helps to know if the best Halloween decor is usually concentrated on particular blocks, as there's no way to cover the entire place and I'd hate to miss the best displays.)

Maybe one day cart "sub-rental" will be a mini side hustle for resort guests: rent your cart to a guest for 1-2 hours and make some $ to cover dinner. (Or host a personalized tour for couples.) :rotfl:
Well at $67 a day (Actually a 24hr period if you could rent your rental for a bit that would sure offset the cost). As far as the best loops, you just don't know who's going to do what every year, but @bama_ed probably has the most knowledge out of us all. Again, might want to post in the Camping forum. You'll really get more activity and answers to your questions. My opinion only, but I also think it's the friendliest forum on the DIS.

FW was our favorite resort for many years. We haven't stayed there since bought into DVC about 20 yrs ago. Since we sold our membership a few yrs ago, I've been thinking about staying at FW on our next trip. The cabins are roomy. The privacy is great as is the kitchen. Our children loved riding the boat to MK. We have never utilized the bus system at any Disney resort so I have nothing to add as far as that. The children had so much fun at the campfire and enjoyed making s'mores.

There are some guests that put up decorations at the cabins, but not nearly the volume as the campsites.

We did a camper rental (dropped off at our reserved campsite) a few years ago and got the free golf cart for the duration of the stay. Our camper had a fold out/down deck with a couple of reclining chairs.

So there is always that option of renting a 5th wheel where you just show up.
