So we are gearing up for our third trip to the parks. On our last two trips we have driven up on Sunday and went to the parks Monday-Wednesday. This time we are going to drive up on Saturday and hit the parks Sunday-Tuesday. We are staying at Best Western Parks Plus Inn, this is our first time staying off property. We are going at the end of September which is the “off season” and I’m not sure what to expect crowd wise on Saturday night. We are not going to the parks but I am thinking we may wander over to DtD to eat, etc. Is getting through security going to be crazy on a Saturday at 7:00 PM? Also I am considering eating at Rainforest Café which we have never had before. Is it good? I want decent food and adult beverages :) I know I will also probably have to make a dining reservation if we go there.

The other option is to stay off property but I don’t know where to eat or what to do for a few hours before trying to see fireworks (from our hotel) and going to bed. The only place I know of that I have heard good things about is Pizza Press. Any advice on this would be great!
Also, how much time is it going to take to get through security in the mornings? We like to be at the parks for rope drop. On our last trip we were up and ready to go before some places in DtD were even open! But we had early entry every morning and only had to go through security with other hotel guests so I’m just not sure how early to get up and get to breakfast in the mornings.

Finally…. This whole new Soaring over the World is throwing a wrench in my FP plans! In our experience we really only spend about ¾ of a day in DCA so my plan was to go on Tuesday when EME is at DL, get in at rope drop go ride TSMM, California Screaming, and maybe ToT then go get FP’s for RSR cause I REALLY want to try to ride it at night… But now I am thinking maybe we will need to get Soaring passes first thing or hop in standby ASAP, then go ride the other things, then hopefully be able get RSR FP’s for a night ride. I also wasn’t previously aware that we could hold FP’s from each park at the same time so it may make sense for us to utilize that by sending a runner to get FP’s and doing more hopping than we usually do. Luckily we don’t have to get passes to Frozen so that doesn’t need to come into play! Any advice?
