Hi everyone! I am looking for ideas to make this trip extra special. I have two DD who love Disney as much as DH and I. We usually try to go every two years. We do not have much choice in when to travel due to school, practice, camps, and work schedules for everyone. We are traveling May 25 - June 2 and staying for our first time at Coronado Springs (which we are a little concerned about due to construction going on). I worry that this may be our last time going for a long while as a complete family. Two years from this trip, my oldest will be going on her graduation trip to Disney with her friends. I want to make this trip one that they always remember with as many little things as possible. My oldest enjoys the planning as much as I do and is spending lots of time planning with me but my youngest just wants to go and do :). I am planning a few new things already such as magic band decals, custom mouse ears from Etsy, and redoing resort window decorations. I would love ideas and outside the box thoughts that are budget friendly. Thanks in advance for any help provided! I posted in another thread but unsure how active it currently is.

Here are a few of my favorite things to do.
1.Take a trip to Ft. Wilderness Campground to the Tri-Circle D ranch. You can see some of the horses that they use in the parks. It's amazing to see them up close.
2. Take a trip to the BoardWalk, preferably at night when it's all lit up. I love the Boardwalk area and I especially love it at night all lit up. There are now two places to get ice cream there, so you could take part of an evening and go get desert! The Boardwalk bakery also has some of the best chocolate chip cookies at WDW, IMO.
3. Take in a round of miniature golf at one of the two mini-golf courses.
4. For one of your meals one day, do a tour of the monorail resorts. Get an appetizer at one resort, the main part of the meal at another resort and then desert at the last resort. Or some variation of that.

Have a great trip!!

Thanks Shelly! Great ideas and all but #2 are things we have never done before. Now that both DDs are older #4 sounds like tons of fun too!

Our son is graduating from high school this year also. We have a late start planning because of the scheduling issues. As of now, we don't have much planned other that dates, resort and a couple of meals.

We were at Disney Memorial Day two years ago. It was a little heavier than a normal June week, but not much. We're going over the Fourth of July which will be crazy.

Did you ever take the boat ride from MK to GF to Poly. I always find this ride to be amazing. You get to see MK in action, the monorail, boats, buses, trains all in action. Bring a camera!

We have never done this. We have reservations one night at Ohana. We will definitely do this. Thanks!

I second taking a tour. KTTK is great for WDW lovers.

Maybe plan a resort-wide scavenger hunt that you can all do together. Not sure how you would plan it-- maybe your planning-loving DD can take charge-- but it would be fun and memorable.

Teppan Edo or HDDR-- both are great for celebrations.

Rent a boat from a marina and cruise the waterways.

Rent a golf cart and explore Fort Wildteness

My oldest will be graduating HS next year (2018) DH is running the 2018 marathon and DD3 and I are doing the 10K next January. This will be our last all of us trip for a while. DD1 will be 18 when we go and is really really looking forward to hanging in the parks with only her and her 2 sisters (they will be 15 & 11). I *think* we may do a dessert party to celebrate with her. DH and I are also celebrating our 20th anniversary (it is literally a week before we arrive) that trip too. I'm trying to figure out ways for all of us to connect each day, thinking TS meals and/or FP+s-it will involve a lot of planning on our part but I really think this may be the trip my kids remember for the rest of their lives as something very special.

The mini portrait session is great! It's 191.00 and you get loads of high quality photos! You can pick the resort you have them done at.

That sounds like a great idea. This will be our last family vacation before the kids start graduating from high school. I would love a forever magical memory like this. I may book it without telling them and make it a fun surprise. Thank you for the idea!!

Since you are staying on property, you might want to look at the options that are available from the Disney Florist. They can deliver a surprise to your hotel room while you are out for the day and surprise the girls when they get back from a day at the parks! My parents surprised me with the big birthday package when we went for my 21st birthday and it was amazing!!! Our door and window were decorated and there were gifts from each of the fab 5! The bigger packages can cost several hundreds of dollars, but there are smaller packages too, with balloons, tiaras, wishing bracelets, and flowers! Maybe you can find something your girls would enjoy!
