Advice for Disney Pin Display

Hi all. One of the more favorite things to do for my family while visiting WDW is pin trading. My children keep talking about it more and more as our August trip approaches.


Unfortunately, once we are home, our Disney pins stay attached to our lanyards and then are put away for safe keeping. Our pins look too nice and provide too many wonderful memories to just be set aside. Do any of you disers display your Disney pins for you and others to see? If so, how do you display them? I would love to hear from those who do display their Disney pins and I would also love to hear from others who have good suggestions. And if you do have a nice Disney pins display, I would love to see a picture of it. Thanks.

If you go to Dizpins.com there is a link to go to the boards at the top and there are hundreds of different displays to look at. A pin book is nice if you want to be able to put them away or framing each trip would be nice too

We use shadow boxes...Buy them at a Michaels or AC Moore craft store.....They hold a bunch of pins...we have over 700 displayed like that.......I can send a pic if you want to see them..

DS collects all the Mickey head shaped ones and has them displayed on a cork board hanging in this room. He just pushes them right into the cork and keeps all the rubber backs in a little box in his desk drawer. Makes it easy to rearranged them whenever he wants.

My plan is to frame up a photo of the family meeting a character and then putting the pin in the corner of the matting.

Just waiting on our photopass cd to come so I can get started on this.

Though we're not pin collectors we like to pick pins we like and display them at home. I got a 16x20 picture frame, removes the back and replaced it with foam board and covered it all with green felt. then I made a wooden frame and inserted the original picture frame glass and hinged it all together so we can open it. We remove the pin keeper and push the pins in and close the glassed door, nice addition to our family room wall. Alot of keepsake pins in there.

We have framed sets on our walls, the girls have corkboards that they use as well. My favorite is the our silhouette sets, we had the girls sit for a silhouette and then we put the pins around the photo, we got a frame that had a matted area inside and it looks so neat together!

I have a frame for pins that I bought at MK several years ago. It has cork around a 4x6 photo area with a small castle at the bottom. It holds several pins and I was hoping to find another frame next trip. Does anyone know if the parks still sell them?

I make scrapbook pages. Years ago, I bought a Creative Memories Passport Album but I have never used it. I started making scrapbook pages and using a pin or two that coordinated with the pictures as an embellishment instead of using stickers - I am pretty minimalist when scrapbooking and I like the way these pages look. For example I put some pirate chip and dale pins on a page of pics from the DCL Pirate Night. Sailor Minnie on a page with the Sail Away Party. A birthday pin with pictures from a birthday celebration at O'hana. I leave one page blank in between each page that I put the pins on. I have a pin album but I enjoy the scrap books more.

I have that frame also. I LOVE IT! Wish I would have bought another one because I haven't been able to find another one since!

I used a cork board, but then used Disney style 12 X 12 scrap booking paper and mickey head buttons (meant for scrap booking also) to decorate it. I have a "dark" one for my Nightmare B4 Xmas pins and a fun one for my other pins. Whole thing cost about $25 to do. Boards are 2 X 3 feet.

Two ideas - I attach mine to the vest and plan on having it framed; my son and family attached appropriate pins to the park maps (such as Peter Pan pin attraction pin attached to ride on map, IASM pin attached to ride, etc) and had each park map framed. Good luck!!!!
