Advice for booking NYE 2026

Newb question - I have a Dec use year at SSR. I have enough points in my 2026 use year to book two nights in a 2 bed at SSR for Dec 31-Jan 2 (12 months out from now). Question #1 is can I even get this at 11 months if I’m online at 8am?

I know that’s the busiest week of the year. My question #2 is if I decide in March (after my upcoming trip) to borrow points from my 2027 UY will it be too late to add Dec 29 & 30?

Appreciate any other tips as well.

NYE is a really popular night but I do think that the chances of a 2 bedroom at SSR would be one that has a high chance of success.

I don’t think you will have trouble adding days a few months later.

It is a popular night, but keep in mind a few things:

SSR is not targeted by commercial renters
Many DVC owners have the Sorcerer Annual Pass, which is blocked out throughout NYE/NYD (and the days leading up to them), so many DVC owners would not consider a stay during that time.
SSR for years had a reputation of being the "resort of last resort"

I'm not suggesting you try to book 5 days before, but I would imagine you'd have a pretty good change.
