Advice for ART vs own vehicle

I'm staying at the homewood suites and I was planning on using ART and I was wondering if anyone out there has any advice concerning this. Art vs own vehicle

I personally would use my own vehicle. On the one occasion we did use ART we spent a lot of precious time waiting for a bus to show up that never seemed to be on schedule. After that trip we vowed to never use the service again. Hopefully other people had a better experience than us!

We usually will walk(about 1/2 mile from where we stay) and occasionally will use ART with the understanding that they are never on time(I am not sure what time they are on), never have driven over to the parks, just tooo much hassle and parking is scarce around the hotel later in the evening.
But, we will use ART when we need to.

I try to avoid driving a car to DLR if possible. For that matter I try to avoid taking busses too.

It looks (to me) like some people love ART and some people hate it. For us, we will have a young child with us, and don't want to risk something that COULD be unreliable when we're certain that our own car (even if it's a rental, ha!) will be reliable with our schedule. We ended up deciding to drive every day. It's likely that pre-child, we would have used ART (or actually, stayed somewhere closer because a Suite hotel wouldn't be as important to us! ).

When we stay at one of the hotels on Convention Way, we usually walk. However, when we stay at one of the hotels in Garden Grove, we drive because it's too far to walk. The cost of the ART for the 4 of us (3 adult prices + 1 child price) is almost equivalent to the cost of parking at a DL lot ($11 per day). We also like the convenience of being able to leave when we want to without having to consider ART schedules.
