Have a very specific question. I am able to use the Shades of green to get overflow rates @ disney resorts (15-20% off). Not as good as AP rates, but the overflow rates can be used even @ holidays and busy seasons. Currently stay @ value or moderates (every 2 or 3 years) since I usually travel solo. In about 4-5 years, I will undergo a salary jump and then could start staying @ deluxes and prob will travel more often (WDW is my choice of vacation). Would it make sense to get DVC either sooner or later? Or just stay with my overflow rates?

If you plan on going to WDW at least once a year, prefer to stay in deluxes, then DVC might be good for you. Points only go up in price (they've gone from the $50 a point I spend in 1997 to $104 they are going for now). Maintenance fees run about $4.50 a point per year. Points are pretty much fixed for the remainder of the resort life. OKW, BWV, BCV, VWL, VB and HHI will expire on Jan 31, 2042. SSR in 2045 and AKV in 2047 (I think). It will take about the same number of points to go at Christmas time in 2041 as it will in 2007. Hotel rates?? Well, who knows??
