Like many have commented, we really don't know 180 days out what we will be in the mood for, or for that matter which park we will be at. Couple that with not knowing until 2 months out we could actually TAKE the vacation, and needless to say, our TS experience was less than stellar for the most part.

I ended up getting reservations at Portobello's for our anniversary dinner (only had two requirements: it had to be at DTD and it had to be before 6pm on Wednesday the 19th). couldn't get a single ADR for any TS restaurant in any of the parks the rest of the week, let alone for parks we figured we'd be at. Got laughed at at Le cellier, Brown Derby and a few others when we showed up first thing to see if we could snag a table at any point during the day.

We survived by doing a big breakfast(usually had zero wait no matter where) and a fairly hefty CS mid afternoon, OR doing a TS for Lunch instead of dinner and making that count until we got back to the Hotel and could order noshies or dessert.

Potobello's: LOVED the Lamb. melted in my mouth it was so tender. DH inhaled his spaghettini fruitti di mare. scored a free chocolate cake for our anniversary( even though the little choc. greeting said happy birthday)

Raglan Road: Beef stew was yummers, as was the Shepard's pie. was empty for lunch, but on the nights we wandered by at dinner, the line was out the door.

The English Pub at Epcot:(name escapes me) Very nice, was the ONLY TS we scored at a dinner hour(albeit a very early one at 5 pm). Pot roast was to die for.

Ohana's at Poly: did lunch and brekkie there. was very pleased each time, great food, great service. Dinner menu looked good too.

The rest of the time, it was CS and in several instances we settled for something we weren't really in the mood for. never had a bad meal though, even if it wasn't exactly quite what we wanted at the time.

next time, we will take the advice of the lady who made our ADR for Portobello's and plan our TS meals for the resorts or DTD, esp. during a DDP promo.

I agree that it is getting very hard to have a positive TS experience unless you are able to book 180 days out. We feel the same way about making plans to eat that far in advance so we will probably book only a handful of restaurants for our fortnights' vacation and eat CS or off-site for the remainder.

Thanks for the reviews - portobello sounds nice, can't say I'd ever given it much thought before.
