Last night I saw Bon Jovi play in Boston. I almost chose not to go. I live on the other side on Massachusetts about 2 hours from Boston. So I left work about 4:44 and headed east. Everything went fine until I got into Boston. Trying to get to the Garden was a challenge. A road I needed to turn on was closed because of construction and somehow I ended up on Storrow Dr going west. This kind of thing always happens to me! That part wasn't so bad since I used to live in Boston driving round there wasn't completely foreign. So got onto the Pike from Storrow and came back around and made it onto Causeway St! Success! Until I tried to park! 3 garages until I found one that had parking. As I wa driving I have a slight tearful breakdown over the phone to my parents who know nothing about Boston so can't do much to help. I considered bailing and just driving home but didn't want to eat the cost since I was doing that for one ticket already as a friend backed out at the last minute. So I find a place to park at the Gov't Center garage and have no idea how to get where I need to go. Thankfully that garage has very kind employees and they pointed me in the right direction. I finally get there. I have an issue with my ticket that gets sorted out quickly...thank you Garden ticket office staff! The show had started already....first time I missed the start of a show :( I finally fin my seat in the nosebleeds and am there for a handful of songs and the sound system goes out during a song! At this point I am convinced the evening is hexed! Thankfully the issue was fixed and the show went on. This was the craziest get to the concert experience I've ever had. The show was awesome... The best out of the 5 times I've seen them. I'm so glad the evening turned around. Now I have to go to work...need lots of coffee!

 Glad it turned out better for you.
I'm heading to Philly tonight for his birthday show.

It turned out great. They always put on a good show but there was a little extra zip to it last night. I'll bet his birthday show will be awesome!

The birthday show that is tonight is just down the highway from me and I have to miss it. I saw them twice last year and it took every bit of my willpower to opt out of this one! But alas, I have 2 kids to feed and clothe! I'm sitting here with a newspaper article next to me and your post in front of me.

BUT....I am happy to hear that you got there and it was everything you wanted. Every concert is an adventure, but yours was something special, huh?

I'm glad you had a better night after all the stress you went through.Jon can always make the stress go away.

I go every year.He comes almost every March so it was my birthday present from my husband.(Yesterday was my birthday) Can't wait for tonight.I have been taking my niece since she was 16 she is now 24 and we bring my sister now and her to teenage daughters. We have so much fun.I hope someday to bring my girls but they side with dad and say he stinks.(all in fun)

My Dh and DS were there last night. I get a text from DH saying DS wants his money back, because it's a defective concert. LOL Two amps and the microphone blew out. It was DS' 1st concert. He really loved it!

As for DS wanting "his" money back..LOL that had me scratching my head, because he got the tickets in his stocking on Christmas morning.

oh so you're the reason that we couldn't hear him :rotfl::rotfl2:

It was definately a night filled of sound mishaps... but it was a great show either way!!!

We were in the section right infront of the sound area and I went to the restroom while they were trying to fix everything, boy they were pulling wires around like crazy!

I opted out of purchasing tickets this year. I've seen them at least 7-8 times and always have a good time. The cost of the tickets is just getting out of hand though. I'm sure at some point I'll cave in and see them again. I do love their NJ summer stadium concerts.

I heard about that LOL!.. But from someone who has seen them over 100 times in many many states and 4 countries, even a "bad" jovi show is a good one! I love when things go wrong, makes it "different" lol!

Hi glad you got to the concert eventually, I love Bon Jovi :lovestruc, was lucky enough to see them twice last year, would love to see them again. Hello to all Bon Jovi fans on the DIS, we should have our own thread??

Yes we should have our own thread! :)
I think that with shows being so dependent on technology glitches are bound to happen. In spite of that I still had a great time and thought they were awesome. And yes JBJ can make anything better.
I agree that ticket prices are high but I go for the nosebleeds because I want to be there. Only once have I spent a lot to get close and that was to see Bruce Springsteen and the E Street band play Giants Stadium and I got floor tickets. I would love to see Bon Jovi play in NJ since I'm originally from there. Hmmmm might be my next thing to save for!

OMG after 20+ years of Bon Jovi concerts (loved every one) last nights was the BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have been waiting for Blood on Blood for year.(He always plays it the night I don't go.SO good thing there wasn't 2 shows in philly this year)LOL Last song of the night.

The best part of the Boston show for me...besides Jon's Mick Jagger impression was his cover of Hallelujah. I love that song and I thought he did a fantastic job.

He didn't do Hallelujah last night. That is the song I usually hear when he doesn't play Blood on Blood. It was a GREAT show!!!!

And you got Love For Sale, Diamond Ring and In These Arms (one of my faves)! And Boston got Dry County... pretty good!

It was a great set list.I have seen JBJ 15 times.I have been waiting to here Blood on Blood for so long. WE also got Jon sing I'll be there for you. I don't like when Richie sings it.for the last 4 concerts I have been to Richie sang it.I saw New York got "Always" I have only heard this one live once. I love how he is giving some different songs every night.

Yeah Dry County was awesome. It makes me want to see them again! Too bad the Mohegan Shows cost an arm and a leg!
