We are considering a members only cruise in Sept.
Why is it more points?
What makes this cruise diffrerent from an ordinary 4 day cruise?
Are the onboard events different?
What types of "gifts" do they give?

I was on the first SS Member Cruise and received gifts each day such as a beautiful teapot, etched wine glasses and more. I consider them nice perks but would not cruise just for the gifts.

The onboard activities have evolved over the years and seem to be more elaborate each time. They bring on special guests for entertainment and seminars too.

The cruise is very special, to fly under the DVC flag and have so many fellow members as passengers to share with. Tips are included on this cruise, too.

I believe the cruise may be sold out. A number of weeks ago there was only one category left, so you may want to call MS today to inquire if you want to go. Good luck!

Thanks Cheryl and Carol!
I just got through booking our cruise! We are looking forward to it!
:cool1:

What is the category that is/was still available?

I'm glad you got it, and I sure wish we could go on it! We've been on one, in '05 and hope that another one fits our schedule, someday.

It was category 10 and they said that they had category 4 (limited). I'm glad we got it, too!

Hi Kelly, if you want the Mickey Member Cruise logo from my signature, just right click on it and copy the properties. Then you go to User CP (top right corner of board) and find edit signature. You can paste it in there. :)

You know, I never noticed this till today, just looking around on the member website..

But.. it certainly looks like it's somewhat 'cheaper' to cruise on points than it was before.. (looks like we have 'value, high value, regular, high reg, peak, high peak, and holiday numbers now)
Example: 3 day cruise, cat 4 was 166 in 2008.. now in 2009 is 130 or 134

Overall, they look less than 2008 requirements.

Of course, I still think just paying $ is cheaper.. but, does it seem like DVC wanting us to spend more points on cruises instead?

Hello Kelly,

Welcome to the DISboards :thumbsup2

Just to expand on carol's directions. You need to paste a link to an image into your signature or avatar. You can paste a link to a photo you have at a photo storage site or you can link to another's photo site. Here is a link to step by step directions for linking one of those resort images.

Just remember that any time you paste a link it needs to start with
.
