I'm an aussie and wasn't aware of this no cancellation, no changes advance purchase deals they have in the US. I clicked confirm before I realised what I was doing. I tried phonning them 10mins after booking but they said there was no changes or cancellations allowed.:confused3 This is so unfair. Is there "trick" or any way of cancelling an "advance purchase" package? I want to add a day at DL at the end of our trip and move LL back one day.

The reason is that we are going in mid May and I booked DL before I came to these boards and found out about Fantasmic, so was thinking of doing a day at the end of our trip, 2 1/2 weeks later when Fantasmic starts again.

thanks

Is it an advance purchase booking for example with Greyline? They won't let you move it back a day? Where did you purchase the tickets from?

I just had a look and it seems I bought them from Legoland Travel. Being a foreigner, I had no idea about this 'advance purchase' thing. So I would love to know if there is a way to cancel or change the date.

call and ask to speak with a manager, them pick on a thick accent and charm them. Perhaps you can get out with just losing a small deposit.

If you still get no help, I would nicely ask to speak to the person's supervisor or manager. If still no help, I would ask for mailing address of someone in charge, then courteously write to the firm and explain, as you have here, what happened. Be sure to keep your phone records showing you tried to cancel shortly after booking.

If still no success, there are legal avenues and also consumer advocate groups in calif. that might be able to help.

I agree w/the PP's. It isn't as if you are cancelling, merely shifting dates. If you lay it on strong, but still being polite and apologetic, you might still get somewhere. Just don't ever try this with Priceline!! They care about nothing.

This. Although not with Legoland, last year I purchased advanced Disney tickets online, and it said they are absolutely non-refundable, but I ended up changing my mind and deciding that I wanted to actually buy 3-day tickets instead of the 2-days I'd already been charged for. In my email, I nicely explained that I didn't want to cancel, but quite the opposite, and they refunded my money the NEXT DAY! It's definitely worth a try!
