Adults only after hours event

I don't think it's quite what you're asking for, but I remember a couple years ago a few places around world showcase hosted "Epcot after hours," (or something like that) an event with different alcoholic drink tastings and food pairings. if I remember the boards from then, kids weren't explicitly prohibited, but as an alcohol-centered activity some
felt they were excluded (of course, others still brought their kids)

I don't see this ever happening. Adults are not the target demographic for Disney, in any of their products. They want the families with children.

I can definitely understand how it might seem that way to many, but I don't want people to think they shouldn't visit if they don't have kids.

It turns out that Disney has multiple target audiences, and adults without children are high priority core demographic target. The resort is consistently rated among the top 5 or 10 most popular honeymoon destinations in the world. One of the reasons they request so much data when you ask for information packets is so that they can tailor messaging to your specific audience. There are folks who work in marketing that specifically figure out how to get adults without children to come vacation at Disney parks and they offer plenty of high end experiences that may not exclude kids, but are specifically targeted for adults.

Edit:
I just saw an article here that 1 out of 3 people visiting Disney World is an adult without kids, which is a really large number. So for every family of four, there could be a party of two without kids.

Completely disagree with this. Look around at many events, even Halloween Parties, Unleash the Villains and you will see way more adults than kids. Disney knows there is a huge segment of their guests that are adults only and I do believe they are slowly and creatively providing for them.

- Food & Wine, really is an adult event after 5. Hear complaints every year from families not liking the adult atmosphere but the bean counters do.
- Trader Sams, no children in the evenings allowed inside (would love to see this expanded).
- Club Villain, even with price increase, no child prices.
- Disney Springs, ever increasing dining, drinking and entertainment zone and add Disney transportation = designated driver.
- As PP noted Honeymoon destination, wedding venue, convention business that is very good to them.
- Flower and Garden; very popular with adults especially all the special seminars.
- Go in any store and there is no shortage of adult clothes, jewelry, Dooney's etc.

Disney knows there is a HUGE adult market and I expect to see more and more added.

Every time I am asked to fill out a survey or provide some kind of feedback I always mention I would be willing to pay separate admission for an adults only night. I would be in heaven if I could go to Magic Kingdom without being assaulted by a stroller in some way. Or watch a parade without a kid on someone's shoulders blocking my view. Why can't they try it just for a few hours like they did years ago when you could pay extra to stay later at the park - weren't those called E-ticket nights, or something like that?

Seconded. From everything I've read about Walt Disney, the idea that children are the only target audience for Disney products and theme parks is ridiculous.

@TinkFan74 - To answer your question, I don't think there are any hard ticket events exclusive to adults, but I would argue that certain events are much more tailored for the adult audience. Club Villain and Food & Wine Festival are great examples.

I love the idea of both, but I would love a late evening where I wasn't accidentally swatted with a light sabre or having my heels and feet battered by a stroller. I know WDW is a family destination and would never suggest otherwise, but I think an adults only after hours event would be a big hit.

I can't see Disney doing this as I think it would upset too many guests who would need to be effectively asked to leave with their children.

I think many guests would also like to see better behaviour of adults who allow their children to run a mock in table service restaurants however. I'm not talking character meals or Cosmic Rays etc where you kind of expect a degree of rowdiness. I mean more the signature or upscale restaurants.

While I love to see children enjoying a meal out in any restaurant however exclusive or expensive, I do feel that a small minority of adults should consider the appropriateness of their child's behaviour while doing so. Last March we witnessed a party in California Grill at an 8:50pm ADR literally allowing their small children to run around the restaurant unaccompanied while the adults in the party sat and drank wine between their courses. This obviously disrupted other diners and at one point a server almost dropped food when they narrowly avoided collision with one of the smaller of the two children.

If Disney staff allow this sort of behaviour to go unchallenged, when it is so obviously inappropriate, I doubt they would turn away children from an entire park.

Maybe there is a middle ground here: Perhaps there is a market for a small moderate/deluxe adults only resort hotel and restaurants/bars/pools etc. Coronado obviously kind of fits this bill, but maybe a smaller resort that focuses exclusively to adults, could work quite well.

Provided it didn't encourage people who just want to come and party etc. Again a small number of adults think an adults only establishment is giving them the right to get wasted and behave like an ***. I was thinking more an adults only haven that was well placed to cater to guests who are looking for rest and relaxation, fine dining, spa treatments etc, it could be like an exclusive boutique resort hotel for that specific purpose.

Both of these! I don't necessarily have a problem with getting accidentally hit, etc., because, well, I'm clumsy too and recognize that accidents happen, but I do have a problem with children running amok and parents allowing them to behave poorly because they're tired, lazy, or selfishly trying to have their own good time with no regard for others. Case in point: On our last trip, my boyfriend wore a really cool hardshell backpack designed to look like Captain America's shield. We were sitting waiting for the ferry after a long day at the park, and a child literally tried to take it off of his back because he wanted it, in full view of his parents who did nothing.

That being said, after a certain amount of alcohol, adults aren't any better. Nothing kills Disney magic quite as quickly as inebriated adults who think the Gran Fiesta Tour is a nice place to take a swim. I'd prefer Disney come up with a solution for their adult oriented events that doesn't end in people drinking themselves silly while they're around families before they have a hard ticket event exclusive for adults.
