I'd just like to add my favorite quote to this thread on adults getting autographs. Legendry pitcher Satchel Paige was once quoted saying," Age is a state of mind, if you don't mind it doesn't matter." As a matter of fact I think the following quote from Walter Elias Disney would fit as well,"Why do we have to grow up? I know more adults who have the children's approach to life. They're people who don't give a hang what the Joneses do. You see them at Disneyland every time you go there. They are not afraid to be delighted with simple pleasures, and they have a degree of contentment with what life has brought - sometimes it isn't much, either."
I say do what make you happy, and by the way I am 37 and enjoy having my photo taken with the characters.

I say if you want to get autographs from the characters, then get autographs from the characters Have fun with the character's and get pictures taken with them and get their autographs, if that is what you want to do

I am 30 years old and I get photos taken with the characters all the time and sometimes I get their autographs When I get their autographs, I sometimes will have them sign dvds that they are in I also had Minnie Mouse sign my Minnie Mouse Hoody I have had Suzy and Perla sign my Suzy and Perla photo shirts

I like to give the characters hugs also You should see how cute and silly I look when I give hugs to Suzy and Perla and Minnie and Chip and Dale I am 6 foot 3 and those characters are tiny, so when I hug those characters it looks adorable and silly

I am a little child I like to have fun and I like to be cute and adorable and I love to be silly and I enjoy those Disney characters

Why not get autographs in Disney?

I've had Mickey autograph books for my nephews, and Mickey and Minnie sign an anniversary card for my parents. I think it is an adorable way to make a souvenir more special.

I don't take an autograph book around, but on my birthday at Cinderella's Royal Table and on my boyfriend's birthday at Crystal Palace we both recieved a card/proclamation with several characters' autographs.

Characters are a huge part of what makes WDW special. Autographs are a fun way of remembering them and Disney - no matter what your age.

I saw this thread and had to chime in. I am going wiht my kids, but I fully intend to get autographs for ME. For the record I will be 34 when I am there.

I play Toontown Online with my DD. We have for about 3 years now. She and I are making books with screenshots of our toons with Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, Daisy, and Pluto in the game. I fully intend to get each one signed when I am at WDW.

Wait, can Pluto sign his name? He is after all a dog.

Before going to Disney in 2002, I had ordered 2 autograph books in advance for myself and my cousin (he was 10 and I was 29) and we would both get in line for autographs and pictures. If it was a character that I wasn't interested in, he would get in line and I would stand by waiting for him. There was even a time where Cruella DeVille and Wendy were out at the same time and he was in one line waiting and I was in the other. I had someone in line behind me take a picture of me with Wendy since I had never seen her out before. So I'm not embarrased to be waiting to get autographs and pictures. I just wait my turn like everyone else. My husband and I are going this year (we don't have kids) and I plan on doing the same thing. Of course my husband might be embarassed but he knows how I am so he'll get over it. I just plan on doing my thing and having a great time.

While the character meet and greet aren't my thing, personally. I have traveled with friends, one of whom suffers from short term memory loss. She takes lots of photos on every trip she takes, and loves the character meets and photo ops. So the rest of us wait patiently while she wait her turn for the meet & greets.

The "Disney Magic" is different for everyone, and if someone find it in the charatcer meets...I certainly have no qualms about adults doing that.

My husband and I are going this year (we don't have kids) and I plan on doing the same thing. Of course my husband might be embarassed but he knows how I am so he'll get over it. I just plan on doing my thing and having a great time.

ditto for me and DH. i've already warned him that i WILL be waiting in lines to meet, get pics taken with and get autographs of some characters and that he'll just have to be willing to wait!

Like most above I say go for it!

I use the autographs in my photo albums. I will say that yes sometimes I feel silly for doing so. So I have found it less silly to do it at a character meals. Its not like a line of people are watching and waiting for you to hurry.

I too...have no problem with an adult waiting for an autograph or photo of a character, etc. I can not even be sure it is for them, and not for a sick child, special event for a relative (as LULU wrote)etc.? Therefore, as most everyone here agrees, Disney is for each person in their own way (what is special to some, is not special to others) --- and everyone is entitled to an autograph and/or photo if this will make their day/visit!

**P.S. I LOVE the levity on this thread, and the way some of you enjoy the obvious (NOT REAL? AS opposed to WHAT?!?). LOL.... I LOVE the quote by Satchel Paige, and adhere to the same philosophy! Who gives a hoot? I was forever in awe of adults who waited in the SANTA CLAUS line in Macy's for a photo to be taken sitting on his lap. One Christmas, my sister and I did this together--and sent it to our folks for a laugh. They actually loved it.

One year, on our way back from WDW, we were stopping to see our CI daughter. At the time she was 8. I got an autograph book and got her many different character's autographs. DH got pictures so we could show her the autograph being signed. She loved it. The characters actually went out of their way with the signatures when I told them who they were for. The character she is named for signed her autograph book extra special.

I did not fee odd or have any odd reactions from any of the characters when I did this.

The very first time I went, which was 5 years ago, I had the characters sign an autograph book (I was 24 at the time). I don't anymore, but that is just because I personally lost interest in it. I think it's totally cool to get autographs though! Go for it!

Hi. I just found this thread. From my experiences, I would definatly say that if you want to collect autographs, feel free. I've never had a character or cast member think anything of seeing an adult getting an autographs. It's just normal. The autographs make great souvenirs and are great for scrapbooking too if you're into that. Plus, with the face characters, it allows time for great conversations. And be sure to write your name in the front of your book. Some characters will even sign personalized autographs for you or call you by name. Above all, just have fun with it. Hope you enjoy collecting autographs.

We've had our sons autograph book for years now.

This year Im getting my own princess book and titling it "celebrating the year I turn 50"
and Im not only getting the characters (meals and those waiting for me w/no lines) but also asking monorail/bus/boat drivers, CMs, etc - everyone who helps to celebrate "the year I turn 50" (will have it for 3 trips this year)
