Adults at character breakfast?

Are there any other adults out there that enjoy character meals? We especially like Donald's breakfast at AK. Past 2 WDW visits have been with aunts and adult cousins and we always seem to get a lot of attention. The CMs there seem to enjoy a little more adult humor with us. While it's not a gourmet meal, it is a very nice selection of breakfast items, good quality and very filling. 14 days till my first trip with my boyfriend of 4+ years. He is not nearly the Disney nut I am (took 4 years to convince him to go) but I am hoping to convince him that for adults, Disney is the best vacation option. Can't wait to get our pictures with the characters. In contrast, our dinner that night (just happens to be Valentines Day) will be at Wolfgang Puck's.

I love character meals! Our kids are grown and gone, but just DH and I have been to several character meals. A few years ago, we did 1900 Park Faire breakfast when Dopey was there, because Dopey is DH's favorite character. We've also been to CP and LTT. And in December, I went to my first solo character meal, Cape May Cafe, and I loved it. I never felt out of place there and can't wait to go again!

I've done a couple, Chef Mickey's and Donald's, both by myself, and in March i'm finally doing breakfast at the Castle! I can't wait. It's fun to watch the kids interact with all the characters. Also thinking about Crystal Palace too...Decisions, decisions, decisions..lol

they are a staple of dh's and i's vacation. WE really like Donalad's and Ohana for Brfst. CP is a must do for dinner as my favorite donkey is there.

WE like them all. One that you may like more as it has a more formal feel to it is 1900 park FARE. We have only done dinner but it's always been great.

Disney's where we honeymooned. It's totally for adults. I agree the CM's like to see adults doing 'kids' things. We went to Ohana's character breakfast then.

........and that was 10yrs ago!!!!! We're going back next week for a belated anniv trip (I was very preggo in August) :goodvibes

Do whatever you want and meet the characters, get your pic taken with them, give them hugs etc. I got totally "Tigger-handled" once. Tigger just grabbed me and 'dipped' me. Also Jafar came up to us and took me away from DH and kept pointing for him to leave and Jafar started walking off w/ me. Yes DH did 'save' me...it was sooo cute. So even the characters enjoy the adult play.

We did the character breakfast at Chef Mickeys on our last trip and had a pretty fun time.

The best part was being seated along the back wall next to a mural of Chip and Dale. The way one of the chipmunks was depicted it was like it was sticking it's finger in it's mouth as if to say "Gag me". (Head turned to the side, mouth wide open, tongue slightly out and finger inserted.) My husband took a picture of me mimicing the painting and when we got the picture back the look on the face of the woman seated at the table next to us was PRICELESS as she realized what was going on! It was disgust, shock and horror all at once...sad perhaps, but that was one of my favorite pictures of the whole darned trip.

We have to go back though cause the couple we were with screwed up all the photos of me and DH with the characters. Hold the camera still you sillyheads!!!

i went a couple times last year with some girls from college....one of them and i did donalds breakfast...last trip my friend and i did 1900 park fare and garden grill--we had a blast!

I've done Crystal Palace and Liberty Tree Tavern, multiple times as an "adult", and every time, I've had a lot of fun.

We go to character meals, what's wrong with it. Chip (or was it Dale?) picked up my beer at Garden Cafe.

I didn't think age mattered for anything in the world.

You are NEVER too old to enjoy a good breakfast with the characters!! I try to go to one on every trip. Chef Mickeys is one of my favorites as far as the characters go, but as far as food goes the Crystal Palace is the greatest!
Donalds is cute too. The cast members definately have fun with the older kids.
If you want a great breakfast without the characters, definately try Kona Cafe at the Polynesian! :shamrock:

I've been to my share of adult only character meals and have always had a good time. Live it up, woohoo! :tink:

I love going to character meals (usually breakfast) and my husband and I try to do at least one on every trip.

Me and the Dw didn't think a character meal would fit , but after trying Chef Mickey's last year We're hooked! It's fun to remember what it was like to be a kid.

We always do character meals with only adults, I agree the characters do seem to enjoy the interaction. We have done crystal palace, liberty tree tavern, chef mickey's, 1900 park fare, ohana's, donald's breakfastasaurus, cape may cafe. They are all fun but we always seem every trip to go to 1900 park fare and cape may cafe for breakfast.

We're a party of adults going this April / May for two weeks and we've already booked four character breakfasts. :) I'm a cast member in the UK myself and I can tell you now, Disney is for adults! :)

Exactly! I do an average of four sit-down meals per month at WDW, with three out of four usually being character dining - adults only and sometimes solo. I am usually drawn to wherever Chip 'n' Dale happen to be. :thumbsup2

We love Donald's too...we go on every trip now. We also enjoyed CP, but have only been once so far. We also enjoyed LTT last year. Not big fans of Chef Mickey's though. We're actually branching out on our next trip because we're going to have my 5 yr. old niece with us so we'll be doing several princess meals too...we'll see. I imagine I will love them and DH will not be so comfortable. :rotfl:

I've done many character meals as a couple and the characters kind of feel out the kind of attention to give you. We've never felt out of place at any of them.
I think my fav had to be chef mickey's with cinderella's breakfast running a close second.
