We spent the better part of a week in 2004 waiting in line for characters. Needless to say I practically banned "character hunting" for 2005 and only slightly relented for 2006 trip. DH and I will be going in 2 weeks without kiddos and for some strange reason, I'm getting excited about seeing certain characters, to the point of planning time for princess autographs. Is there no cure for this disease we call Disney?

No, I don't think there's a cure!

I like getting my picture taken with characters but I have to pick the few I want the most because my husband HATES to stand in line for them.

Once back in the days before I had a digital camera I wanted a picture with Sulley from Monsters Inc. I stood in line and got one, but later my husband told me he wasn't sure if he heard the film advance so he wasn't sure the camera worked. We went back for another picture at Sulley's next appearance. The handler remembered me and said "oh you're back again". Yeah, that was a little embarassing!

No cure. Why would anyone want a cure for that?:)
Have a good time.

One of my favorite activites is finding characters to have my pic taken with, and on our last trip to WDW I finally got my Dh to have a few taken too. I love it. We just got back from our first trip to DLR and I was pretty disappointed with the lack of characters I found there. I ended up getting photos with Tigger and Pluto and DH and I got one with Mickey at his house, but that was it. I did see the Mad Hatter and Alice a few times, but never got the chance to take a pic with them. :sad2: Oh well I am already excited about our next trip to WDW, NOv 2008, looking forward to adding to my character pic collection!! :woohoo:

On our past trip in March we stayed for the extra hours at AK. DDs went on to go on some rides while DH and I joked around with the characters. We met up with Lilo and Stitch. When we approached the line their friend/handler told them ,"oh look guys some big kids" I got a real kick out of that. Since it was close to Easter we had some Skittle packets for the characters. Stitch nearly knocked me off my feet he was so excited. Got a big hug from both of them.

Come to think of it I got quite a few hugs that trip, not just DDs. In March 2008 we have Starbursts packets to hand out.
:thumbsup2

Are you kidding? I am an adult, and my favorite thing to do in Disney is meet the characters. If there is a cure, I don't want it.

We love character hunting. There are some good sites posted on other threads where you can find all the characters. We just finished our list from the past two years getting ready to find those we have yet to get pics with. We have pictures (and we did autographs last year for fun) of 81 different characters from two trips.

Only once did we feel weird when a hot and tired Mulan said, "Oh big kids", in a somewhat dissapointed tone. Oh well.:flower3:

I, too, love to character hunt. Even though I'm now 27, for some strange reason I get excited when I see them. But then I think to myself, there are people in those costumes who are around my age, so is it totally weird? My fiance is not a big fan for waiting in line for characters as most of our pictures show. I also will NOT go up to any "face" characters for fear as above. Am I crazy or what??!!!

Costumes? What are you talking about?

Anyway, the characters are probably way older than you... Mickey and Minnie are pushing 80! But man oh man, they are lookin' good!

They sure do! Mickey and Minnie (and all of them) look great for their age.:)

I just about have a coronary when I see a character. Even if it's one I saw that day already. here I am, a 31 year old married woman, jumping up and down and screaming to my 34 year old DH "Honey look....LOOOOOOKK!! It's Donald/Grumpy/Beast/Jack Sparrow". Luckily, my wonderful hubby always smiles and says "Yes it is. Do you want to go meet him?"

Certainly something I do not wish to be cured of!

I like doing this, (I'm 23) but it seems like noone realizes I'm not with a kid! I tried to meet one of the Incredibles last October in DL and I kept getting budded so I just gave up and took a picture from afar...my last trip (in August to DL) there wasn't a lot of characters out, I believe we only saw YOAMD Minnie and Woody. I got a pic with YOAMD Minnie, but it didn't seem like "she" liked getting a picture with me...I was pretty much the only adult in line and she was "going to go have supper with Mickey" soon...

That happens to me too. I have had to let the attendant/character know I am by myself.

But sometimes they can be the best interactions you get! :)

Look at my siggie! :)

Don't give up....

I always make sure to tell them I'm by myself or when they ask how many I say 1 ;)

Awww, your pictures are so cute! I would love to put one in mine, but I have so many I could never decide.
