My MIL will be with us for our upcoming trip and can hang out with my daughter one night so the wife and I will be able to get away for a nice dinner for two. I would like a nice place with less of a family atmosphere and more of a quiet, fine dinning experience. Any suggestions? Thanks

Hard to find that at Disney....If you want a truly adult experience, and you're not worried about cost, go with Victoria & Alberts. Other suggestions: Sanaa, Jiko, narcoosees. We've had lovely meals at many places in Disney, just adults: those mentioned, plus San angel, rose & Crown, Chefs, but they have not been quiet, fine dining experiences...just good food, good service and a night together without interruption. :) enjoy!

Not fine dining but it is pretty trendy and adult-ish. Roccos taco and tequila bar on w. Sand Lake. Guacamole made at your table. Molcajetes, their version of the fajita is awesome. Im not a big fan of mexican, but I really enjoyed this place.

If you like steaks, Charley's is an excellent choice. Two locations on I-Drive. cozy atmosphere, fine dining, outrageous steaks, great service, and great wine.

Our one must-do-every-trip restaurant is Columbia in Celebration. It is different -- old-line, authentic Spanish cuisine from the historic Ybor City area of Tampa. Nice, up-scale ambiance, gracious service. Their "Legendary 1905 Salad," which is mixed at your table is truly legendary. I've had numerous dishes there over the years and never, ever had anything that wasn't wonderful. My new all-time fave, since our Dec visit, is the "Grouper Jimmy."

I would also second the suggestions of Texas de Brazil and Seasons 52 -- although both may be more crowded, less quiet, than you are looking for. Both offer wonderful food, but are usually crowded and noisy.

There are many places to eat Outside of Disney ,but near enough to be not far to drive. ( 5 miles or less )

Try " The Villa de Flora " in Gaylord Palms Resort W. Osceola Parkway.

( The Huge Convention Building that looks like an upside down funnel )

There is " Millers Ale House ", Longhorn , Texas SteakHouse , Olive Garden,

& Logans All on Hwy 192 around Animal Kingdom area.

Further afield 25 miles on Hwy 27 South is Haines City and the famous

very busy Manny's Chop House , on the Right just beyond Wall Mart &

Southern Dunes Community .

Roy's (in the same location as Seasons 52) might be another choice. Lots of good suggestions in this thread.

I would do Seasons 52 ... they have expanded to other parts of the country, but the one in Orlando is the original. Really nice food, nice atmosphere (people dressed well, not formal, but well .. a piano player, nicely lit and decorated). Outstanding food at a reasonable price for what you get (most plates are $25-$40)

I agree. This is our default special occasion restaurant. They do everything well.

Out favorite is Old Hickory steakhouse at Gaylord Palms Hotel...we have lived in the disney area for 13 years and Old Hickory is our favorite for just the adults.

A friend and I had dinner at Ocean Prime a couple of years ago. It was very good and had a great, upscale "adult" atmosphere.

All great suggestions. I'm leaning towards Columbia. It looks pretty neat and I've heard a lot about celebration but never been there in all the years we've traveled to Orlando.

If you change your mind and do Capital Grille there are two musts IMO: 1) Stoli doli (signature drink) and 2) calamari. It has ruined me for calamari elsewhere. I also love the lobster Mac n cheese if they happen to have it.

You can't go wrong with Columbia...my favorite restaurant around:) think I'll go tonight!
