I am taking my spouse to Disney for his first every adult trip to Disney and his first trip in 15 years. When are going for his birthday the first weekend in May we will be there for three nights. I need some advice on what restaurants would be great for us and him for the trip. YES we are using the Dining Plan.

I guess I should answer two ways: first 1 TS credit dining and the second for 2 TS credit dining.
1 TS - Le Cellier, Tutto Italia, and Chef's De France. These restaurants have great atmosphere and very good food.
2 TS - California Grill with a ressie around fireworks time, Artist Point, and Jiko. These restaurants have a more romantic feel but in my opinion the food is just as good at the 1 TS credit restaurants listed above. So it really depends on what you what to spend. Buon Appetito!

I second California Grill. I took my boyfriend there during Wishes fireworks and it was wonderful. The food was great and so was the view. :lovestruc

We like Jiko, which in our mind is worth the cost whether it be credits or dollars. We also like Kona - we think the food is great. "We" is me and my hubby with lots of adult trips behind us.

Dh and I are two adults, always going to WDW that way. For us the best restaurants are those not on the dining plan. We pay OOP on our trips because we prefer the dining experience with the least amount of crowds/loud groups, etc.

However, for those places on the dining plan, I think JIKO is the best and most adult experience out of those offered. We love the food at Ca Grill but I don't consider it that special. Food is good but this place is packed with people and extremely noisy. JIKO is generally a little quieter, has a darkened atmosphere with changing light colors, so it's always seemed a bit more adult to me.

There are a lot of great places to eat at WDW and I'm sure whatever you pick, you'll have a great a time.

We always enjoy Kona Cafe, Rose & Crown, Le Cellier, & Raglan Road. Have fun planning!

thank you all for your help...just one last quick question is The turf club quick service or table? is Jiko @ AKL?

Thanks again

You might consider the Coral Reef in Epcot. We ate there this past trip and really enjoyed the food & atmosphere. One full wall of the restaurant is the giant aquarium in The Sea & the celinings lights enhance the underwater effect. You can contact the restaurant and they'll help make it special for the birthday. If you'll PM me, I can share the manager's contact information. She was able to make special menus for us using a few pictures that I sent her. We got to keep them, so they're now also a souvenier. Also, you might be able to have the diver come near your table with a Happy Birthday message, but that's totally dependent on availability.

The Turf Club is a TS restaurant at Sarasota Springs. Jiko is a signature dining (2 TS credits) at AKL.

I recommend Le Cellier or Wolfgang Puck Cafe (the downstairs is on the dining plan, but the nicer dining room upstairs is not). I wasn't thrilled with the food at Tutto Italia. We also really like Biergarten in the Germany pavillion at EPCOT, although its not exactly romantic - it is a lot of fun!

We're eating at Jiko & Citrico's on our honeymoon this summer, but have never tried a signature restaurant before - we're doing it this summer because we're doing the DxDDP.

Since you only have 3TS credits I would probably not choose a 2TS place unless you want to pay OOP for another meal. Although we loved everything about our time at Narcoossee's in your case I'd save it for a longer stay on the Dining Plan.

Coral Reef would also get my vote. Great atmosphere and wonderful food.

Boma at AKL its a buffet, but very, very unique, with standard items and international dishes too. I'd go for dinner and try breakfast then when you stay at AKV.

For the third meal decide if you want do a character meal as adults. Many choose too, but it won't be for everyone. The buffet at 1900 Park Fare seems to be good and many are reporting having a lot of fun with the Step Sisters at dinner.

If not a character meal maybe a themed meal like: Biergarten, Ragland Road or even Marakeesh in Morrocco at Epcot for the bellydancers; DH might enjoy that. :rolleyes1
