Adult ordering kids meal

I know an adult can order a kids meal for a counter service but just wondering if they will let you do it at a sit down restaurant. Sometimes I don't want a huge meal and can't take it with you since we're staying in a hotel. Will they let me order a kids meal?

Most will allow it, as long as it's not a buffet, fixed price, or other aycte place.

I usually order from kids meal when Im not really hungry and never have a problem.
